For those of you who like blowing stuff up...

There's a persistent 'Distress Call' USS in V773 Cassiopeiae system containing a messed up Faragut Battlecruiser and a wing of 4 pirates.
I was directed to it by a 'Compromised Carrier Signal' message in local Galnet at Stepping Stone Base in HIP 8396, which is a Sirius Corp outpost.

It's probably unrelated to the Rift/Exodus/Guardians stuff, but the combination of Cassiopeia and Sirius makes me a little curious.

If anyone with a big weapon is out in that direction, it might be worth seeing what happens if you take out the pirates...

More than one combat ship might be needed. I've taken out a couple of waves of pirates and they kept spawning after the previous wave had been destroyed. I'm not sure if the same applies in this case though. Just a heads up...

I'm looking forward to reading Premonition just to find out what this girl's reasoning in all this has been. She does seem to be carried about by the wind.

Her reasoning has always been along the spoiled little princess line. Until the end when she decides that it all just sounds like too much work, so I'm going to deny the planet's original inhabitants freedom and justice and give it to the guy who killed millions of them. So that she can go on a space adventure instead.

She was not a good character to read. Sorry Drew.

P.S. before the eagle eyes amongst you shout "That's a Patreus symbol on the Empire one!", yes it is. Because I wanted an empire symbol, the PP ones are there, but it's the best of the four. I have no link to Pat, and defo not with regards to his relationship with Salome.

Mmmmm, lucky I don't own a tinfoil hat

Apology accepted :D

I need to change my forum name to <RP>DrewCarnegie, so it's clear that nothing is intended as a personal insult - since I consistently rub CoR members up the wrong way ;)

You and me both. As far as RP is concerned I thing they are nutters and fanatics and I never trust people who don't question things.

IRL no problems with them.

That's exactly what THEY want you to think
"THEY" can never be trusted

As Harley I'll trust individuals when they have proved they deserve it, give others the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise, but organisations and governments? Nope. Too many people thinking they know what's best for you and always hiding something.

Oh that's not tin foil by the way, just proven history.

I don't think there's been anyone on these threads who's been as critical of Kahina/Salome as I have, but I think she was a GREAT character to read - just not a good character to like
Hassan better show up in Premonition or there'll be much pouting and stamping of feet.

But that might be entirely intentional. At no point is it stated that Loren is A. The good gal or B. Remotely in control or competent. We could all be running around following the actions of someone who thinks they are on top of things and who, in fact is clueless and reckless. I'm sure we have all met those sorts at work before. People who are utterly confidant in there opinions and abilities, who are in fact arrogant and incompetent.

And that is partly how I see her. She is barely more that a teenager, with a highly privileged and yet, abuse ridden upbringing, thrust into galactic politics with the biggest players, who all have vastly more knowledge and resources and are happy to try and use her. She started the war in Prism precisely because she took an aloof attitude and did not know what she was doing. Whether she has learned from that remains to be seen. The point being that she is clearly a highly flawed character in a very hi stakes scenario. From that point of view I think Drew has done great job.

Indeed it will be very interesting if she keep messing things up and it turns out she really does not have a clue what she is doing and desperately clinging onto paper thin evidence and is just stringing people along to try and achieve her ends, whilst becoming more and more desperate and out of control. I don't think that is the case however. I do think she has evidence of some very big and very important things that have been covered up. However I do think she is highly flawed. But I (Saool) am prepared to go along for the ride to see what she has uncovered.

I didn't feel she was either. The book was alright in general, but was far from making it among my favorites. But that's another discussion.

Has anyone come across this message "Landing Area Blocked" before? Happens when recalling ship.

What, she's had a compleatly standard Imperial upbringing? Are you saying being raised as an aristocrat in itself is abuse?
[deleted screed about the middle class being right about everything redacted to save their precious ears]

I think we need to keep in mind where we're actually at.
1. Kahina lives!
2. Imperial bounty.
3. Imperials split over it.

All the C.o.R. lovely posters are a heads up, a four weeks in advance heads up for us, to get the community engaged.
I get why but personally would have preferred the other route of surprise and shock with maybe some wiggle room for players to get into place after that. Its not like the timing, galnets and circumstances wont already have most folks back in the bubble at the time.

I mean sure you built your Trump shelter and are keeping it stocked but what are the real chances you're going to have your hand on it's door when the sirens go off. There's not going to be a campaign telling you to be bunkered April 29th at 18:00. Odds are you're more than five minutes short of getting fried. When the going gets tough the smart get out of Dodge.

I was out there about 2 months ago. And the battle itself has already been covered, but I didn't see mention of the Pirate Farragut which is named the Warrior. The Warrior is the same one that happened to battle it's way through the bubble last year. It can be routed, but it didn't pay anything when I was there. The FNV Formidable just stayed there afterwards. Nothing much really happened other than the battle.

I landed on the surface of Planet 3 in the HIP 21484 System, while in Open Play and detected a strange signal. Turned off ED music mid-video to make sure that wasn't the source. Sounds like a beacon transmitting data somewhere nearby, resulting in interference coming through the ship's comms, although at the end of the transmission it almost sounds like something was shut off in the ship. Probably nothing but reporting it just in case...
