Again, thanks for your input everyone.
A shiny new 1050 is winging its way to me as we speak.
Cool, have fun! My 750ti can handle 1080p with most settings to ultra just fine, and your 1050 is better. Should be perfect!

Let us know how it goes!
I'm in need of a GPU upgrade, but I'm having trouble deciding which one, and I'd like some feedback on frame per second from the nVidia GTX 1050 (and Ti versions), at 1080p, to compare to my current graphics card (AMD HD 6870).
I'm also looking at the AMD RX 470 too, which should drop in price for the 570 release. Hopefully.
I basically won't upgrade if it's not atleast twice as good.
My old card is surprisingly capable for its age. But i forget what settings I'm using. But it's mostly smooth.![]()
Sorry made, 3% shy of twice as good.

FWIW: my 750ti runs at 1.25SS, planetary ultra, most things at max except ambient occlusion (off). Its 60FPS in SC, close to 60 in the rings, and around 30FPS in stations/on planets. The 1050 should vastly outperform it. If you go for 1080p, the 1050 will do great.
