Can someone please tell me what exactly is happening on the 29th and what does 46 Eridani have to do with it all? That's right next to the locked Col 70 sectors, will they become unlocked? Sorry, I know the answers are probably in this thread somewhere but I can't keep up!

I came accross a few griefers, but I don't know whether any of them were SDCers. Rinzler on the other hand certainly appears to be a decent fellow. :)
Actually I was able to escape engineered Corvette wing interdictions with my Cobra MkIV following his instructions in "how to trade in open".

He does. That video of his was great, shame it failed the forums test (the swearing, although there was something endearing about the computer voice reading it out)

There's a comment on this or the cannon thread saying sdc have been being involved in organising the PvP on salome's side.
 
I had it all this time! But as simple minded as i am i took it the wrong way. Here's my Fibonacci sequence

Yes, this is very annoying. The 10th fibonacci number is 55, not 34. The 10th number in that sequence is the 9th fibonacci number. I too was '1 out'. Very typical programming error.
 
So, the conclusion (maybe?) to this story on the 29th, apparently SDC are helping with the PvP angle and defending Salome. That makes me hmmm, I can't help think that they'll do the defending then obliterate salome et all at the point of maximum effect and lol's, ie. just when it looks like it's all going to be rosy.

Cause they don't have form doing that sort of thing now do they ;)

Funny how this whole thing eventually devolves into a PVP event. I expect that very few of the actual Rifters are much into PVP, if any.

I considered trying to get involved in the event -- it's a pretty big part of the story after all -- but after spending some time on Discord and etc, examining the groups involved and looking at their plans (at least the parts they are talking about), I realized how completely out of my element I would be.

I don't have a PVP ship. I have no PVP skills in ED. Explorers generally don't.

So my conclusion is that there is no place for me in the event, other than possibly as an observer. However, knowing how instancing works, I'd probably have nothing to observe even if I went out there.

So I will do my best to enjoy the story from the bleachers. There's no place on the field for me.

I still cannot believe that this is planed to be an PVP event. When something happens in open it will probably come to some kind of PVP but I hope that is possible for everyone to participate in the events, independent from preferred play stile or instance.

I've never done PvP on ED. I'd likely not be very good at it. I've seen Rinzler's combat videos, and whilst he's possibly a cut above other PvPers, even those others will be better than I am.

That said, I'm probably still going to be there. I've got an A-rated, RNGineered Conda, and I can afford to spend a bit getting it PvP-ready. And I can afford many rebuys for it.

I might not survive for very long, but I'll play a part in a battle - if there is a battle - because I'll still shoot, and I'll still draw fire, and that'll give others who are better than me a little more time to fight.

And like the couple of posts above me, I'd be surprised if it was all decided by a PvP battle. We know Salome is being hunted - that probably means there'll be some NPC interaction to contend with. As for PvP... there''ll be players trying to kill Salome. That's uncontrollable, and not unexpected by us - and probably anticipated by FD. We, the players, are writing the chapter here - PvP is implied.

Perhaps other forces will intercede.

The PvP event is a forum rumor. No one knows what will happen. It could be anything.

Stealth, cargo capacity and jump range might be more important than firepower.
 
I think i can claim some credit for this fibal bit as i did post up the idea in the forums last night (i think others have already spotted that cheers!) and on twitch on DJ truthsayers stream. :)

However it came from bringing together info from lots of people and ideas! So medals all round. I think i just stumbled upon how it all fitted together.

Two cents: alacrity is indicated = time is of the essence (as in you need to solve it soon, time is running out. which has been done).
If there is a deeper meaning illustrating a destination, then a speculator would be the system Chronos. The personification of time.

I saw a 'discussion' that was more of a mud slinging. Some PVPers including Rinzler were there and gave tips/lectured (feel free to choose the better wording) the rest/organizers who did not take heed - at the end pi**ing off the PVPer camp. I don't know whether that has changed, but having strong PVPers at the 'allied' side would be certainly desirable.
 
Getting confused...will the SDC really fight on the 'Salome' side?

For in Drew's interview, I read this:

Pilots are taking sides and preparing for an epic showdown, with Salomé’s primary supporters, the Children of Raxxla, leading the effort to protect her and with the notorious Smiling Dog Crew leading the opposition. Factions are lining up on either side, with EXO supporting Salomé and the Children of Raxxla and helping to lead the effort on the xbox platform.


Will the SDC fight on both sides or is this info outdated? Or did I get it all wrong?

In any case, judging from the vids, Salome will travel in a vibrant yellow Clipper. So using swarm tactics and closely guarding her in a larger group of yellow Clippers might significantly increase her survival chances.

Congrats once again for the riddles solving. It has gone to fast for me to catch up. I totally underwent the amount of posts ;) .

So the race beginns at 46 Eridani ; I doubt , and hope , it will result in a mere pvp event because you know , I can't imagine all these explorers , down this forum , twisting their brains to solve mysteries , then give way to pvp players for the "fun live part" ...

like a : " Hey PVP guys , here you go , we solved the riddles , here is your playground ! Have fun , we jump for other riddles to unfold so you can play....!!"

Nevertheless, I'll be there with all the skills I have , in the best suitable ship I've got for a chase....she'll come back with me back at daddy's home.....!! .....or not :)

Congrats all on 46, thought it would be easy... But missed the obvious
If destination is the megaship? Now we need to work out the, route, I will be following yuri on xbox, open to bribes on which side to take! 64 palladium maybe...
