That being said, the name of the game is instance saturation and tactical interdictions. The only way these VIPs get to their end point is by clearing the way for them. This means scouting ahead for trouble. It means identifying threats and interdicting them until they leave, or our VIPs pass through. This is the strategy for 90% of the people in this channel:
-Identify target
-Interdict target
-Run like hell
-Do it again
If you are not an EXPERIENCED PVPER (SDC/AA/etc.), this is what you should run:

iCourier:

With these builds, your strategy is to interdict, drop, and fly away EVASIVELY. What does evasive mean? Not in a straight line unless you KNOW you are at least 100 m/s faster than what you pulled. Evasive doesn't mean do an aileron roll as you boost away, because you're still essentially flying in a straight line. Evasive is using lateral thrusters to alter your path. It's turning while you boost to make you hard to target with fixed weapons. Evasive is popping a heatsink when you're 2km out so you drop off sensors.
Again, 90% of you should be running the above builds because unless you ALREADY know how to PvP, all you'll be doing is throwing yourself at an enemy that is unlikely to fight you, and if they do, you will die very, very quickly. If you're an experienced PvPer (meaning you regularly participate in actual high-level PvP) do what you want.
FAQ:
"But Ryan, I kill Conda/Vette NPCs all the time in my battle Conda/Vette/Cutter, I can totally take these scrubs, right?"
No, you can't, and you won't. You will die and we will all laugh at how dumb you are.
"But Ryan, I want to actually fight in this event because I need validation for my combat skills"
No, you don't, and you won't. You will die and we will all laugh at how dumb you are.
"But Ryan, seriously, I know what I'm doing. I'm going to bring torps because that's how you kill PvP ships"
No, you don't, and you won't. You will die and we will all laugh at how dumb you are.
"I don't have access to Palin to get G5 DD. What do?"
Go to Farseer and get G3 DD and roll until you get some great secondaries that put you way over the limit on optimal multiplier. The faster you can go, the more likely it is that you will survive.
"I still think I should bring a big ship. I think with healing and torps I can save the world"
No, you can't, and you won't. You will die and we will all laugh at how dumb you are.

I cannot stress this enough, guys. If you are looking at this message for guidance, you are in the 90% that need to run those 2 builds. The PvPers you are going against will not fight you because you are not the target. If we're actually fighting, something has gone either horribly right or horribly wrong. If you end up in a fight with a PvPer, you will get toasted just like the NPCs in a conflict zone. This will happen to you (including the hilarious YouTube video):
