I was being lectured on the steam forums yesterday how the Star Texture "bug" was my graphics card being dead!
Some people are simply wilfully blind to any and all problems even when you provide 100's of comments backing it as a widespread bug as evidence! These people basically actively stop bugs being fixed by downplaying them and discouraging discussion to the point the devs actually don't know what the prevalence is and think a widespread issue is minor!
Sadly steam doesn't have an ignore function....
I hear ya! One of the reasons I never bother with the Steam forums any more.

I can deal with those who lack attention to detail. There are people out there who appear to be legitimately blind to all but the most glaring quality issues in a video game. Again... That is fine... But when those same people start throwing their weight around, blowing off legitimate bug reports and going as far as dissing on those who do see these issues, then we have a problem. A BIG problem!
I've been an avid gamer pretty much all of my adult life, since video games barely existed when I was a kid in the 60s. Since the first days of the internet and gaming BBS boards, there have been Apologists. What motivates this bizarre breed of human, and keeps them defending the often times indefensible is a mystery for the ages.
To say that their misguided loyalties have done nothing but stifle the progress towards higher and higher quality standards in video game development would be the understatement of the century.
I don't understand what motivates these people. What keeps them essentially voting against their own best interests in pretty much every single instance of game breaking issues.
Yep! I simply do not understand them, and after nearly 40 years of reading their clueless drivel, I can confidently say, I never will.
