As someone who never ever plays in open I have to say I really enjoyed the event today. Not the back stab ending but being in open and chasing her toward the core. I wanted her to live and would have gladly thrown my Asp between her and harm's way.
I started on the first planet in 46 Eridani sitting in the shadows of a cliff waiting for it to start while watching live streams. I had no idea if I would live or die instantly. The later was more likely. Once it started and we ran for the core it became a blast. I saw dozens of other players along the way. None interfered. I was interdicted once between 46 Eridani and the core and I evaded it. I was interdicted once more at Tionisla and evaded that as well. Frankly, I've been interdicted far more often in private.
To everybody who quit without even starting... You missed out. It would have been fun to wing up with other explorers. There was no ganking that I saw. Sure PAC had points setup to interfere but even though I transited those systems, including F Eridani, I had no problems.
And PAC. Wow. No guns as a strategy. Just sayin'. This is a strategic blunder that will live in infamy. Right beside Neville Chamberlain "Peace in our time."
All in all it has been an absolutely fantastic story. I am looking forward to all that comes. Thanks again Drew!
