THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

As someone who never ever plays in open I have to say I really enjoyed the event today. Not the back stab ending but being in open and chasing her toward the core. I wanted her to live and would have gladly thrown my Asp between her and harm's way.

I started on the first planet in 46 Eridani sitting in the shadows of a cliff waiting for it to start while watching live streams. I had no idea if I would live or die instantly. The later was more likely. Once it started and we ran for the core it became a blast. I saw dozens of other players along the way. None interfered. I was interdicted once between 46 Eridani and the core and I evaded it. I was interdicted once more at Tionisla and evaded that as well. Frankly, I've been interdicted far more often in private.

To everybody who quit without even starting... You missed out. It would have been fun to wing up with other explorers. There was no ganking that I saw. Sure PAC had points setup to interfere but even though I transited those systems, including F Eridani, I had no problems.

And PAC. Wow. No guns as a strategy. Just sayin'. This is a strategic blunder that will live in infamy. Right beside Neville Chamberlain "Peace in our time."

All in all it has been an absolutely fantastic story. I am looking forward to all that comes. Thanks again Drew!

PAC banned everyone from carrying weapons, except the SDC PvP bodyguards that they trusted to protect Salome. The SDC bodyguard killed Salome, and since no-one else had weapons, she died.

Thankfully an independent commander found and published a chunk of the secret before the event even started.

What I have to say is (and I was only listening), but those in the PAC general chat actually sounded reasonable most of the time, and most of them were disagreeing with the no weapons rule. As I said, it was only the experienced PvPers that had taken control that were the real annoyance. If they hadn't allowed SDC to be considered friendly then hey, things might have been different. But yeah, if everyone was armed, they might not have gotten a clear run on Salomé. It's defitely something for the the Elite PvP Elitists to learn in case of future events.

I think Drew's tweet about Reorte, he meant Reidquat -- And he knows it. Hint; The logs from the rift settlements. "We left from Reorte.. Did I say reorte? I meant Reidquat"

Yeah, this was what was really annoying about the PAC plan. Many people knew that a killer would be hiding in the ranks. In fact, I knew that SDC were in in PAC, and being trusted, and in fact HP was amongst those deciding who could and couldn't be trusted with guns... :D

I think I'm done for the evening, but it was nice to get to meet Harley Quinn in Teorge... until there were some connection issues, and I couldn't communicate.
Good seeing you too mate, busy system when I left it,

Parsing out new clues. Potential spoilers may follow.
Teorge listening posts say "if you read the old lore you'll, know why that system". It's not much to go on but it is an open question. I did some searching and didn't find much. There is this interesting Oolite story that takes place in Teorge. With Rebecca being an Oolite character, maybe there's something there. I haven't read much of it, just that it mentions the story and the writer ask some eager question about the same system of players that play Elite Dangerous. http://aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=17247&p=233196 Happy searching tinfoilers.

Teorge is the home planet of Elyssia Fields. It used to be colony for clones. It's from The Dark Wheel.

Personally, I think that's exactly the way it should be. I haven't read all this clone stuff that's been mentioned, but I think this is all that could have been expected.

But none of it was even breadcrumbs; like I said earlier, the content of the old woman's 16 page logs were already well established. There was nothing new learned about anything, at least not IMO.

Yeah i did get that impression too from a couple of other commanders but more so after the event. Definitely some lessons there though, Commander. :)
