Thanks Drew for that explanation / clarification.
The other three CMDRs made it and got to Teorge, so the mission is accomplished. Alas the hero dies, that's tragic. I think Salomé's fate still makes a good story.

Salomé's message was not delivered due to the outcome of the event. Players changed the story once again.
Cheers,
Drew.
There is another artifact of interdiciton which is like a transparent ripple effect that appears on screen somewhat like a heat haze, it can be full screen (large swathes of the borders) or localised (smaller effect), just like how the interditcion bug circle can appear at different sizes and orientations. That is what he is seeing.
ALL COMMANDERS TO TEORGE NOW!!!
I just had a very weird occurrence. I passed by some kind of spacetime disturbance. It was definitely NOT the interdiction bug. It was like the stars were swimming... hard to describe. in an isolated area. Found it by travelling slowly out to the last planet.
Thanks for the update Drew.
Despite the technical difficulties (and the mountain of salt that the forum turned into) it seems a lot of people had a lot of fun.
Hi Folks,
...
Cheers,
Drew.
Like something cloaked, e.g. Predator
I found these in 3 systems (one of which had no other CMDRs) or so yesterday, was never interdicted, they showed up and as I got closer they grew in size and disappeared.

Thank you for finally clarifying this to the community who refused to believe.
Many thanks, Drew, for your work and the update. I think what was important about this event was the attempt to do something different. I was excited to see how things unfolded and I think the game needs more of these sorts of story-based, interactive events. Here's to the next one! (But have a lie down first, of course...)![]()
Human nature being what it is, many will still refuse to believe. I guess the best we can do is give them some sausage gravy and salt to season the bones they gnaw on.

Hi Folks,
Apologies for delay in responding, as 1, I was knackered, and 2, I've only just finished carting all my computers and network gear back upstairs where they belong.
I'm posting here first out of all possible locations because you are the folks who've been following this the longest and deserve the explanation first. A few things went awry last night (inevitably) and as a result of that not everything was as clear as I would have liked.
The objective of the chase was to reach the Tionisla system from 46 Eridani. All four protagonists had that goal. There they were to rendezvous with the Cor Meum Et Animam Cobra that was positioned in the 'Encrypted Transmission' tourist beacon (in lieu of not having a graveyard at this point in time).
That Cobra would (rather like the EAFOTS transmission in Galnet) give off a transmission, requiring the protagonists to seek the Teorge system, there to find the transmission logs left by Rebecca.
Tsu got there first, followed by Raan and Yuri. Unfortunately, due connection issues, we could not get the Cobra to instance correctly with the protagonists. Thus we had to give the clue manually. As you all know, the logs had already been found by this point (ironically) by one of you. Spoilers of course, but the show had to go on. Thus the message was revealed, but not in the way I had hoped or anticipated. The logs are server side content which had to be placed in prior to the event, so there was always risk this would happen.
Salomé was due to make one of her customary speeches on arrival, but alas, she was killed. More detail would have been contained therein. That avenue is now closed. We did intend to reveal some of that along the way, but it proved simply too hectic to do so - we had no let up during the 2 hours. It was constant and exhausting. Dozens of PvPers were interdicted out of Salomé's way by allied forces during that time.
Whilst Harry Potter did finish Salomé off, her ship was badly wounded after almost 2 hours of evading interdiction by hardened PvP players. Her hull was intact, but despite exhausting an AFMU (refilled twice) and using all our stored Jumponium, when she was interdicted that time she suffered fatal damage to chaff, weapons, and FSD drive. We also suffered from the wing partners not being able to dewake alongside, thus she was alone, damaged and without weapons or means to escape. The result at that point was inevitable.
Cheers,
Drew.
This nor your previous post actually explain why the information was so valuable to defend in the first place, given it was all things we already knew, except for the one detail that Rebecca used to be one of those doing the mind-wiping.
Was this entire event just to provide new comers a bit of backstory on why community members view the Rift as so important?
But the real tragedy here is... CMDR Masheikh Scytale has lost his, let's say, main love interest...![]()
The worse thing would have been not to try at all.
