Resigned from The Code

Here's to the Courage of Your Convictions!

Sorry to see CODE come to this point, and sorry to see you feel the need to leave them. I have always regarded the CODE as a group of villains with an honorable Code of Conduct. That seems to have changed, and for that I am sorry.

If you want to see the Galaxy from the other side, feel free to stop by Cobra Kai. We have a code of conduct, but I don't think it's the one you're looking for. You'd be welcome though :)

Is there any mercy in your dojo?

So, who do you hate the most Gluttony?
Are you more likely to take one side over another, some old scores to settle?
I would also imagine good PvP opportunities would be a thing as well?
It may help you find a home is all.

i dreamed of being a pira....extortionist once, Got a cobraIII set up wit hatchbreakers and imagined the group name "GalaTax", called my ship the "auditor general" (others in a wing could be "the chartered accountant" "the bailiff " etc) Have to be properly polite, not actually kill as then you loose your tax base, keep records of clients met and how much they paid so if you come across them again you could let them go or take further payments depending on taxes charged and paid so far, fine further taxes for abusive responses....
however, turns out I can't fight well enough to prosper, know I can't multitask very well, have no wingmates and never met any players to audit anyways.

back to aimlessly skulking about and behaving myself generally

I don't particularly hate anyone from The Code, there is a particular individual I find difficult to work with, however.

If I hated someone from The Code I probably wouldn't have left on relatively good terms.

I was reluctant to respond to this, seemed like one of those (many) threads to just take note of and not respond to.
After all your (and The Code's) style of game play doesn't overlap or interfere with mine in any way.
But there's just something i'm at odds with after reading that OP a couple of times.
Why ?
Not why you disengaged from The Code, but why announce it ?
I probably disagree with you on most of the topics you post about, and rarely have our path' crossed on this forum.
That said, you've always come across well articulated, engaged and (and this is the important bit) unceremonial in what you've written.
I understand that The Code, and your role in it, is a well known entity in ED.
And most likely it's for that very reason you felt the need to make your statement.
But let me ask you, do you also see that this can easily come across (justified or not) as fishing for attention, and underlining how "big a deal" you are ?
Not that you have to give a damn either way, but despite all of the opinions i'd disagree with you on, self indulgence isn't one of the things i'd have accused you of.
Was i wrong ?

If I wanted to attention seek, I could have created a drama out of my leave and I easily could have with my writing capacity and knowledge of The Code along with the relative upstanding status with the community (much obliged).

That being said, the easiest way for me to inform other player groups of my leave would be using this forum and reddit, which I did. I fully understand some people will see it as pure attention seeking, and that regardless of how I explain my rationality, some will disagree. Therefore I'll reiterate that this is merely what I believe is the most efficient and effective way to informing other player groups that are in contact with me since most of them check this forum or/and reddit while their individual communication platform widely varies (discord, teamspeak, email, website, you name it).

Think of it as a press release, folks :D

'Public apologist'? LOL

I think they're drinking their own Kool-Aid at this point.

I don't pretend to speak for others, but that's definitely not a label I'd attach to you.

Best of luck out there in the black, Commander. o7

I'm curious how GluttonyFang will defend the Code losing their most prominent member ... wait ... I mean ... Let me rephrase:

GluttonyFang, you were the one member from the Code that I respected. I haven't always shared your opinion (but it would be boring of we all had uniform thoughts) but I always admired you standing by your word and your principles.

You were always the way I hoped all pirates would act like.

See you in the black, but don't be surprised if you ask for 4 tons of my cargo and I start arguing ... After all, there is more space for tea in your hold, I'm sure ...

Not going to comment on the reasons for the split, nor even for the post.

But, good luck Commander, if you're having a change of career. It'll take a while I guess before many trust you, but I'm sure you already know that. Again, good luck.

hahaha 'the code' ya should rename em 'the loggers' had 1 vette high wake out and another log. 2 vettes vs my cutter - better luck next time ^_^

Thank you for the kind appreciation, I hope to cross path with you as well.

A shame for you Mr Fang, but you are a pirate with standards (cannot believe I said that), so I can understand your reasoning. I hope you find new and fun things to do in ED.

I think the fact the thread reached 11 pages of responses in a couple of days, speaks volume for your "popularity" within the community.

Simon

Sorry to hear your leaving the Code GluttonyFang, I have always respected your clear standpoint and your level response to quite often unreasonable and often downright nasty behaviour to you. I know you've been around along time too (same as me) so really, in the end - it's the Codes loss.

Hopefully meet you in the black one day - when I get the trousers to switch to 'open' full time. ;)
