Resigned from The Code

If I wanted to attention seek, I could have created a drama out of my leave and I easily could have with my writing capacity and knowledge of The Code along with the relative upstanding status with the community (much obliged).

That being said, the easiest way for me to inform other player groups of my leave would be using this forum and reddit, which I did. I fully understand some people will see it as pure attention seeking, and that regardless of how I explain my rationality, some will disagree. Therefore I'll reiterate that this is merely what I believe is the most efficient and effective way to informing other player groups that are in contact with me since most of them check this forum or/and reddit while their individual communication platform widely varies (discord, teamspeak, email, website, you name it).

"This game needs better in-game social tools!".

"Why? When we have the forums and Reddits and Inara and Teamspeak and Discord...."

*makes an announcement on the forums*

"ATTENSHUN SEEKER... EGADS!!!!1!!ONE11!"

Don't trust him. It could be a long term plan to infiltrate an organization, only to betray it in its most vulnerable moment, and claim that he never actually left Code. Its a typical EVE trick.

Why leave and contribute to the decline of something when you can remain and strengthen it?

Still, I respect the sentiment behind leaving even if I don't respect the logic of it.

If you're in an online gaming group and find yourself at the edge of the stuff they're getting up to rather than in the middle of it, you have two choices. Leave and let them do what they want, or stay and let them do what they want, probably spending your leisure time being insulted.

You're not going to be the lone voice in the wilderness that drags them back to your own preferred territory, even if that voice is as eloquent as GF's, because life frankly just doesn't work that way. Poorly written fiction maybe, but not life.

That goes without factoring in the actual others involved. I can name exactly one member of The Code other than GF, he's already been named a few times in this thread and frankly he comes across (quite intentionally too) as such a dismal excuse for a functioning human being that I can certainly see why someone wouldn't want to spend their spare time dealing with his self aggrandising nonsense.

Gluttony,

You are one of the if not THE only CODE members I have ever repped or agreed with on some points. The way I see it is their loss is going to end up as someone else's gain, much respect for standing up for your values and good luck in wherever your future exploits in the galaxy take you.

BTW: I totally agree with your reasons.....mode invasion is just serious weaksauce period imho.

Hi.

Today marks the day that I resign from The Code after witnessing the passing of five captains since the founding captain of the organization.

o7 respects, CMDR.

I have been jumped by highway robbers from The Code on a few occasions, and I will say they are nothing if not honourable thugs, who are quite civil despite brandishing many weapons at my person. Resulting in Smooth transactions. With fast delivery. A++

All jokes aside, you always struck me as someone with ideals; may not have always agreed, although I did so far more often than I thought I might - but I continue to respect your viewpoints, and believe they have always been important; not the least because they come from an equal desire to see the game improve. Sometimes you can swim against the tide, and win; but the tide is inexorable and one can only fight it for so long. Arguably you are probably a voice of reason, one of few left for piracy I wager, but everything has it's time, and better to leave when able.

Wish best luck.

And now, you understand this kind of people infecting and corrupting everything if you let them, and slowly working their way up to the top so they can reign supreme, and do their disgusting things, and only a handful of people holding up, and not giving in to them.

Hello Cmdr Lightspeed, the Fuel Rats will be with you in a few moments, please add Cmdr Harry Potter to your friends list XD XD

To be brutally honest I don't know how it'd play out. I think personally I'd trust GF to his word if he wanted to join, as above they farm cargo not salt and despite being bad guys they did so honourably... For the most part after the teething introductory period anyway...
Not sure I'd trust HP though, SDC have run a few too many false flag operations for me to believe a word they'd say...

As before, not my call to make on any of it though.
My run-ins with the Code have been honorable and clean so far. +1 to you GF. I'd trust you to give fuel but would expect to have to pay in cargo.
.
You guys still owe me for frying my cat after that hostage situation back in 3301. :p

Alright, that's a levelheaded answer and sounds plausible to me, thx.:)

I'd still probably take him in, it'd be fun while it lasted. Speaking of which, we really need a PR guy.

Well, he joined us on an event last Sat and it was cracking fun. Think another maybe tomorrow.

Oh, and we have an epic broadcast from him tonight on the station at Hutton. Welcome aboard, Mr Fang. A pleasure to have you with us.

The kind of guy you want at your back when surrounded by alien menace.
