Alien ship on ground at barnacle spotted!!!

Sorry, multiple posts, just annoyed.

Look at the generation ships. What an awesome mystery and fun thing to get into.... for about 5 seconds until you realize there's nothing to them other than look at it and listen to some audio. No further goal. No finding some of their crew on a nearby planet and reuinutjng them with the Galaxy. No backstory discovery. Nothing

Entire games/movies are made from expanding on the storyline of an alien virus wiping out a generation ship. But in ED? Nothing.

Frontier seems to be awesome at hinting toward depth, and then purposely avoiding it.

But no atmospheric landings possible yet. This has further to run with ELWs probably, but later of course.

Right. Everything is in development. Everything comes later. Well, that works for some, but I'm pretty sure I'll be disinterested after a bit and if nothing is forthcoming after E3 then it's just not for me. I'll go to DCS or RoF and be happy with more realistic flight controls instead of storyline

Again, sorry- im ranting here. The power play for example. I'm with fed and doing combat undermining of aisling duval in Open. My side and her side are heavily active in this region which is cool, except everyone is just farming it out in Solo or Private. So stupid. Stuuuuuuuupid. Just me and my npcs while dozens of real life players are doing stuff in their closets

This game could be the best game ever. So so much potential.

But without proper execution, good ideas mean nothing

i agree with you ban open then all can be in solo (in b4 lock). but seriously, rather than get your underwear tangled just shrug and carry on. SOMEONE has to be in open just in case the other side wants to be. rather than see it as 'everyone hiding in solo' which they may be doing because of ganker griefers they have experienced in the past btw, why not see it as 'we have people balancing out the solo of the other side, im here to make sure the odds are at least even in open'.

It's an issue because this is a multiplayer mechanic wherein everyone bangs it out solo, completely avoiding human conflict. Yeah I'd choot some imp scum if I saw them in the system. It's a combat operation.

This is the goofiest game concept, trying to mix a single player and multiplayer experience together. It's trying the "please everyone" route. Doubt it'll work.

Edit- errr, tangent. Off topic, sorry my bad

Back to the pretty cut scene that you have to farm

A reminder.

Hotel California is that way ==================>

Other posts should be about the Alien visits.

Thank you.

After seeing that, I feel totally inadequate in my overpowered Corvette. Like, what are we supposed to do with that when they decide we´re an annoyance?
I think I gonna move to the Formidine Rift and MAYBE I will live a full life before they decide to wipe us out.

Are the factions even mentioning the aliens? How is this immersive and believable at all when nothing in the game reacts to ALIENS?

Power play goes on unaffected. Local system missions same, unaffected. Nobody cares that there are hostile alien flowers that are capable of destroying everything.

Or is there a reaction somewhere? Something? Anything? Bueller?

Well, if Cutscene 1, Cutscene 2 and now Cutscene 3 are any guide : nothing.

It's a Cutscene. No interaction. Just grab popcorn or use the opportunity to go AFK for a short while.
If Frontier decides to wipe you (or anyone else) out, it'll simply happen. Easy as that and you don't even have to do anything ;)

Hence, it's "Good news everyone! They're just passive NPCs doing their thing. No Action Required, no harm done. Now, carry on... We have a delivery to make."

No interaction? Did you watch the first video ?

Within a second, the refuelling has lasted 52 to 53 seconds in two videos, so the disruption of the beam when the ship struck it is a coincidence (probably) ... an amazing coincidence.

Which would make this a cut-scene, yes .... I admit it ...... [yesnod]

.... but there is still a puff of smoke as the ship enters the beam :x

Here's my take on all this:

1) We now know a little more about barnacles and their relationship with the flowerships. Not much, but a little more than we did yesterday.

2) Things started ramping up recently. First we could create our avatar. Then we could join others as a gunner/fighter pilot. That may have happened because it might be needed to fight these things.

3) Flowerships still disable us when they appear.

4) PS4 release is coming this month.

Now, reports will flow in about this new event. I'm guessing (guessing, mind you) that there's going to be "some research" done about these new encounters and a CG will be announced that "stuff will be needed" to create a way to shield our ships from the disabling effect these alien ships produce. Once that's out in the wild, I believe there'll be more interaction with these flowerships than you'd actually want.

Followed, of course, by the "Please nurf" requests. ;)
