Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

The new Mission additional option, where do I find this in the game, as I can't find it in the menus, UI or any where? Does it only show when you accept a mission? I've seen the option to Auto Select Mission destination but that's all.

Small Issue: When changing the option to Display Options in the UI as Icons or Text, when you've changed from one to the other the TCE UI Main Bar disappears and can't be shown again, even when you have a short cut to show/hide it set. I have to quite TCE via the Task manager and then when TCE is reloaded it shows the new selection. I only found this whilst trying to find the Missions new option.

OK, this is super annoying. I had this issue before, but was able to work around it.

I missed the last major release announcement, but went back to update my 1.5.6.1 to 1.5.7. When transferring in the DB, it again loses my registered markets. First it finds them, then when I close the DB panel to launch, they disappear. In fact, if I just close the DB panel and reopen it, they disappear. What's annoying is it finds them, displays the proper number of them, and everything. They only disappear when I close the Database panel. Last time I worked around this via rolling back to the last major version's backup but this time around I don't have one. I went through every single backup of the DBs and not a single one works this time. It's darned odd.

I made a backup copy of the TCE folder before renaming it to .old and that works flawlessly. So v1.5.6.1 works fine for me, but bumping up to 1.5.7 doesn't work at all. Weird, right?

Edit: I reset to the most recent 1.5.6.1 and tried a DB verify. The Prices DB failed, so I made a manual backup, reset the DBs to default, extracted the files from the manual backup, dropped the manual backup into the DB folder except for the TCE_Prices.db file. Verification passed on all DBs at that stage. I then launched TCE, connected to grab prices from the current station, and relaunched to test verification again.

That allowed me to reinstall 1.5.7, which processed the DB transfer without issue and then I was able to update to 1.5.7.1.

My suggestion, while this isn't a common issue, would be to add a DB verification option somewhere in the DB transfer process. Every DB program I've ever supported professionally had an option for that and it came in handy as all get-out. If that's prohibitively difficult from a development standpoint, I'd say adding an option to verify the DB once every <X> days would be a definite bonus.

Hope that helps! :)

Wondered that myself too. Yes, it only shows when you accept a mission, below Trade and Connect. It's very handy.

Apparently you didn't click the START TRANSFER button after the first scan of entries of your old TCE version.

Here is a step-by-step guide, how to transfer old databases to a new full release of TCE:
1. Rename your installed TCE version folder (e.g. from C:\TCE to C:\TCE.old).
2. Install the new full release version of TCE (e.g. C:\TCE).
3. Run the launcher of TCE, go to the Database window, click the TRANSFER button and select your old TCE version folder (e.g. C:\TCE.old).
4. TCE scans all database files and when completed, click the START TRANSFER button.
5. After the transfer was finished, click the VERIFY button to make sure, all is transferred properly.
6. If an error appears on a database, don't worry, click the REPAIR button to let TCE fix the error.

It will only show up, when you accepted a mission, so it is less disturbing when you didn't perform any missions.
The Personal panel will get a revamp to include mission history and statistics and to make it smaller for lower resolutions when I find the time.

The issue when switching to the Icon UI is identified and will be fixed with the next update.

I thought that might be the case, thanks.

Huh, odd. I did do the Start Transfer but never got the Verify option lit up (or it was, at least, non functional ... I can't recall exactly now). It said to close the panel and, when reopening it, or launching the DB was empty. I'm guessing my corrupt DB caused it, though, since once I got rid of that the process worked fine.

Hi Eventure,
since TCE 1.5.7.1 it seems adding new stars manually does cause problems. After entering all the required data and hitting the save button, nothing happens. I waited up to 5 minutes. Then I closed the panel via cancel. From there on my database didn't work right anymore.
When I tried to verify it, it ended up with error, repairing it doesn't work. TCE says, it is not repairable. So I used my last backup and sure enough, it happened again. This whloe thing happened twice.

Now I am back to TCE 1.5.7.

Thanks

Update [1.5.7.3] released:

Changelog:
- Fixed an issue when switching to the Icon UI at the Options panel, it won't appear.
- Fixed an issue when switching to the Text UI at the Options panel, the Connect button don't show up at registered markets.
- Fixed an issue with the time display at the Icon UI.
- Fixed an issue when adding multiple stars to a star system at the Cartography panel.

Note:
Copy all files and folders from the update into your TCE installation folder to update your version.

I like to remind any user, who wants to use TCE in russian, to help in translating the
latest commodities and interface phrases at OneSky. Thanks in advance.

Hello there. I've noticed for a while the great use of this tool as a way to keep track of Faction influence and how much I've worked for them (writing how many missions I've done on the Notes, clearing it when there's a new tick). I ran into a limitation though, the 3 limit for faction monitoring.

I'd like to suggest increasing the limit for monitored factions, maybe by adding 4 more spots below the first row and increasing the window size a bit to compensate.

I made a small donation, thank you very much for this tool.

Thanks for your support, it should will be easy to add more than three factions to the panel. Comes with the next update.

Hmmmm...first time ever for me.
Thought there was mention of this (and a fix) in the OP but apparently not.
Thanks though.

You bet. You could always try a reinstall of .Net, I suppose. Can't hurt anyhow. Another possibility would be to try verifying the DB integrity, though I'd be somewhat surprised if that was causing sudden .Net issues.

Well of course.
All ready to make copious notes on the error message and, for the first time since updating TCE, it is working flawlessly.
Been about 15 minutes now.
If it should happen again I will pay attention.
Thanks!

Hi Eventure,

Is it possible to change "summary" "waypoints" and 'cargo" for icons and integrate them into the top menu? More easy to click on and more sexy.
Thanks if it is possible to integrate these in your roadmap.

Hehe, reminds me of when my clients report an issue yet when I show up to handle it, things are all just fine. Sometimes it does it when they just call me. :)

hey all,

Just a small problem i have been seeing for a while now.

When leaving a planetary base, TCE gains focus and the mini map icon flashes (becomes white not grey), this has caused me to almost crash a couple of times :D I have mini map turned off.

would be better if it didn't happen :)

Thanks again :)
