Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Hi Eventure,
I have a problem with the Automatic Destination finder. Since 1.5.7 (now .3) it is no more working. With the previous 1.5.6 it worked perfectly. I have not changed any settings and the database is verified to all green.
Any hint for me?
I don't know if this has been reported before. So if yes, I am sorry.

EDIT: I just reverted to 1.5.6.1 and yes, here Automatic Destination works. Is there a bug in 1.5.7?

Hmm, what shows your Destination Display?

The Auto-Destination selection depends on your settings at the Options panel. It has three modes (Manual/Auto/Mission), that can be selected with the button above the Destination Display.

The settings are correct (Control/Options/Auto Destination ON). Destination display only displays "no destination found". As mentioned above, I reverted to 1.5.6.1 and Auto Destionation works perfect. Switching back to 1.5.7.3 it doesnt work. Sorry, that's all I can tell right now. You need more information? Am glad to help.

EDIT: The button above the Destination Display also shows "AUTO DESTINATION"

That reminds me of a glitch I had that I couldn't replicate a while back so I assumed it was just me. As I recall, it was only when I set the pad size or something along those lines that it found a destination. It was weird but it went away on its own, so I never bothered to report it. Might be worth fiddling with the settings and see if it starts working again.

Sorry I can't be more specific; it's been a while now.

Okay, thanks for checking. Please create an error report via the launcher of TCE and attach your ErrorReportFiles.7z file from your current installation (V1.5.7.3).
Will take a look, what the issue is.

Errrmmmm..... sorry for that dumb question. But how to I create such a report? I don't see any button or so in the launcher menu nor do I see any such files in the TCE folder.

Please click the red triangle button at the launcher to start your email app to attach the ErrorReportFiles.7z file, which will be created in the process.

Hi Dennis,

please follow the guidelines in how to update TCE from an older version.

Question: What I have to do, when a new version of TCE is released?
Answer: With every FULL release, pls do the following:

1. Rename your installed TCE version folder (e.g. from C:\TCE to C:\TCE.old).
2. Install the new full release version of TCE (e.g. C:\TCE).
3. Run the launcher of TCE, go to the Database window, click the TRANSFER button and select your old TCE version folder (e.g. C:\TCE.old).
4. TCE scans all database files and when completed, click the START TRANSFER button.
5. After the transfer was finished, click the VERIFY button to make sure, all is transferred properly.
6. If an error appears on a database, don't worry, click the REPAIR button to let TCE fix the error.

If you had done it the way above, but getting any .net errors, please create an error report with the Report an Error button (red triangle) at the launcher and attach a zipped database folder from your older version of TCE.

@Okidoki :)

Hi Eventure,

Is it possible to change "summary" "waypoints" and 'cargo" for icons and integrate them into the top menu? More easy to click on and more sexy.
Thanks if it is possible to integrate these in your roadmap.

I suggest to select a keyboard shortcut for the three panels, so you don't have to click the buttons actually.
Additionally I suggest to set also a shortcut for TCE Focus, so you can see your mousepointer and navigate easier at the UI.

At the first glance, I can't find an issue in the routine, so I like to ask, if someone else also expierenced an issue with the Auto-Destination selection?

I've not seen any other mention of this, so I'm not sure if it's just me, but it appears that TCE isn't submitting to EDDN. (The checkbox is checked, and EDMC is installed and shows as functioning properly, if I run the GUI manually).

TCE orders EDMC.exe to send the data, if the option is checked and EDMC is not running in the back. So if the data wasn't sent, it's out of my reach.

Hi Eventure,

I've encounted a few issues between TCE MKII and EDSM.NET. I'm using TCE MKII with EDMC (EDMC shows correct ship details and locations in status), and ships are not displayed correctly in EDSM.NET. If I switch to my Cobra MKIII, EDSM shows the previous ship I was in, yet EDMC shows the correct ship and location. In the Personal panel for TCE MKII, my current ship the Cobra MK III is displayed, but the name of my Cobra MK IV is displayed. If I switch back to my Federal Assault Ship, all details and locations are correct. If I jump to another system, then the location remains correct. Does TCE MKII use EDMC to update ship locations and details on EDSM site?

Hi Xantraus,

the ship name is in fact not properly extracted from the journal file, which will be fixed with the next update.

IIRC, the EDMC.exe (the commandline executable, which TCE uses) only send commodity data to EDDN. If you want to send your ship data to EDSM, please let the EDMC GUI open in the background.

If you want to see an EDSM support of the EDMC.exe file, please post a support request at the EDMC thread (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=225287) to make this possible by the -n parameter of EDMC.exe.

Thanks for reporting,

Eventure

For me the Market Prices Database, TCE_PRICES.DB seems to get corrupt every day. I can repair and verify and then it looks ok. But next time I start TCE and run the database check it shows up again as to need repair.

Is there a fix for that?

You can ignore this particular issue, it happens when using TCE-Relay, which adds price data to markets, which have no market, according to your database. There is no error in the database itself, but TCE detecting the needless price data.
So maybe checking your stored markets at your database (best done with the Navigation panel (Trade Markets)) with "NONE" for the primary economy could solve your issue, if you find the market, which have actually a commodity market.

Hi Eventure,

I discovered why EDMC was not updating my ship's location in EDSM. The short answer: Frontier gifted me a Cobra MK II for early "Kickstarter" support of Elite Dangerous. There was some attribute (perhaps the Ship ID = 0) of this Cobra MK II that EDMC or EDSM could not handle, preventing the ship's location and details updates on EDSM. I purchased a new Cobra MK III and transferred all equipment from the old Cobra to the new one. EDSM is now tracking the ship's location and details perfectly.

I appreciate the clarification on how EDMC communicates with EDSM.

Thank You,
Xantraus

Hello Eventure,

Is there any way to add a field in the fund-tracking portion of the Personal tab to allow users to manually enter a change in amount, and perhaps a pulldown that allows you to select which field you want that manually entered value to appear in?

Example: when using Advanced Maintenance and then clicking repair "Ship Integrity", that value is never recognized or recorded by TCE, so from the moment I make that repair, my credit tallies are wrong until I restart TCE. Instead, if your were to enter a +/- value into this field and then have the associated pulldown allowing me to tell TCE I want that value applied to the "Expenses>Repair" field, that would provide a fairly simple fix to this problem (from the user perspective... I have no idea of difficulty on programming such an option in).

Secondly and kind of related, I know after I had asked for the above several months ago when you combined the old Credits tab into the Personal tab, you had added the "Load" and "Save" buttons, and when one or the other is clicked, they change to "Add" and "Replace". All I know is that whenever I click one of those buttons more than once, it starts auto-filling some of the fields with numbers I have no idea what they represent. Can you please explain to me what the purpose of those Load/Save/Add/Replace buttons is, and how to properly use them?

As always, thank you very much for all of your efforts in creating and maintaining this FANTASTIC tool for E:D. As I've told you before, without your app, I would get FAR less enjoyment from this game, to the point I would probably cease playing it altogether. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
