But it really kicks in after you tie the knot.

What makes me laugh though, is when the wife hears me playing Elite or Frontier on the computer she refers to it as "Space Invaders". I've tried explaining about the Thargoids, INRA etc, but I'm just wasting my time...

Aye, mine hates it too - especially when I am playing online and talking to others in teamspeak. She doesn't understand that it's pretty much on par to reading a book or watching telly.

Or going shopping for an item of clothing she already has lots of?

These are the things i remind mine of when she starts with the "waste of time" thing.

Try getting her a Nintendo DS as a present with Dr Kawashima's Brain training. (in pink?!). My wife hates computers, but now she's as hooked on her Nintendo as I am on my laptop!

Aye, mine hates it too - especially when I am playing online and talking to others in teamspeak. She doesn't understand that it's pretty much on par to reading a book or watching telly.

The mrs gets confused when I'm using teamspeak; she keeps thinking I'm talking to her! Kind of hard to do when I'm playing Battlefield 2 - not sure how she can confuse "Shoot that f**king chopper" to a normal conversation we'd have!!
