I love Elite.

I love it. First game I always go to when I get chance.
I've either not started or not finished a ton of steam games since purchasing this because I just switch on Elite and hours later the sun is coming up.
Can never understand all the whinging. Looking forward to the proper Thargoid encounters now.
Keep up the good work Frontier!

Luckily (and to my surprise) most of the time this thread manages on ist own to emerge from the depths of the forum - just when the negatvity levels are reaching new peaks. People seem to remember.

Just wait until tomorrow when all of us PS4 players strap into our shiny new Sidewinders :D

I love Elite too. I dedicate all the time spent on my XBox to it. Which works out as almost every day for over a year. People may take the ****, but I don't care. I LOVE ELITE!

I hate this thread...Ive ignored it until now but I cant resist anymore...I have something really salty to say about this game and Im hating meself right now fer saying it but...

Im absolutely loving the game again after a little break elsewhere...cant believe how much Ive missed this game, it actually pains me to admit that. A love/hate relationship...I love to talk about my hate fer certain aspects of the game, and hate to admit I love it anyway.

I hate you all...love, verm ^

It does always make me smile when people have a go at players for having a moan here and there. If I didn't care about the game, I certainly wouldn't be wasting my time on here moaning about it. :D

For me, Elite: Dangerous is not a game anymore... it is a hobby. With all the gear (joysticks, VoiceAttack, VR etc) it becomes more than just a game. And, looking at it from a perspective... me, being a simple miner/trader in the game, and seeing what people in Canonn are doing, is just absolutely fantastic. Elite is not the game where you are in the centre of the universe... while I do my stuff, others will do other stuff, such as investigating the Thargoids and learning more from them.

It is not my cup of tea, because I love what I do in the game, when I am in the game.

That said... I just love the fact that there are people in the game that do the things that is not "my cup of tea" and show me the awesome things in the game through video recordings. It's like being a regular guy, doing whatever, being happy, and then watch the moonlanding on telly. Would I have wanted to be amongst those? No... I am happy where I am, and I am very happy for them.

I just LOVE the realistic feeling of being in a universe with thousands of other CMDRs, all doing what they love to do, and some of them do great discoveries and shares it.

I Love this game.

Tell ye waht...last game which I blasted through was mass effect andromeda...jokes aside about dodgy bugged releases, I played 3 campaigns on insane mode and put 300 odd hours into multiplayer and apex missions, trust me I know what the bugs are.

Point being, I was here every single day on this forum, while I was playing the 4th instalment of a series of which Ive been a fan of fer nearly a decade.

The benefits of embracing insanity rather than rejecting it means one has plenty of time to reflect on what that actually means to me personally. And passion? You guys havent seen passion yet, just enthusiasm...well...not including yours truly red but that was a different war entirely ^

You managed to play MEA for that long? I lasted 15 hours, and then I wanted to get back to Elite. :D

It's almost becoming a life style. It's the only thing I talk about during the day. "Did you hear, they have found more than 200 thargoid bases." Etc. They're starting to be quite annoyed with me!

I played a couple of hours and lost interest. What's missing for me is the feeling of actually flying in space. It felt more like doing missions on different planets and stations, but nothing with exploring space itself. I missed the flying space ship aspect that Elite brings.

I can understand this... for me, it was more of "where is my freedoom"? As in... logging into the game, and then say "Hey, today I want to mine..." OK, Elite is fine with that.... or any activity for that matter... The freedom in Elite is nice, compared to a game like MEA, which is way too driven by narrative.

Very true. I felt more freedom in ME1 and 2. I never really got around to finish ME3. What I loved the most about ME1 was the ability to land on some planets with the Mako and harvest materials. And they took it away in ME2. So when ED had planet landing... oh, boy, I was in heaven.

Yes! I remember that... instead we got this awefull planet scan thing in ME2... *sigh*

And it seemed like it was simplified even more in MEA. It was so stupidly simple that I only did the motions but didn't even bother reading what the "discovery" was. Who cares. Just point, click, get rewards. It's the anti-grinding. It's so easy and non-grinding that it's boring beyond belief.
