Because your old version wouldn't be compatible with the actual server version?

Apart from that, afaik it were only 50mb update.

Are you sure? Doesn't it have to download the entire FD file structure on PC? Thats over 30GB last time I had to get my friend to download it for me.

It takes all non-changed bits from your current install. It may pretend its very large, but at times your 'download' is suddenly at 50mb/s and up, so its clearly just copying files.

anyone know why im downloading a 13 gb update?

its all over,,,..but I can't resist...
you might want to do some file transfer testing on your pc, 13Gb as opposed to something under 100mb IRL = you are having severe CRC problems which could be packet loss due to some sort of interference, or ISP problems period....
The jist of it is, somewhere packets are not getting to you intact and are continually being resent....
And no matter what you want to say next about your net connection or speed.....it happens..data transfer of every type can suffer packet loss, data corruption from various things and network is seriously un-reliable, even though we pay to use it...you know...ask why we still use checksums to verify data...etc would you put your childs life on the line if their heart was continually being monitored and controlled due to health issues in an expensive device that looks after this, only have its abilities be regulated or bottlenecked by a public type average ISP that it has to connect through to do its job?.....no is the correct answer.

There is also a possibility that you have a different issue, in that your pc is having a hard time saving....pending HD failure...
And another person in here also mentioned that the update may simply be doing a copy files process, and the total of a possible update is all you are seeing and that when it is complete it will show you the actual amount that was downloaded.....This is common, mine did it this way

In my case last night after the initial Adjudication server crash my game allowed me to play for about 2 hours before the Adjudication servers booted me back to main menu. This morning when I tried playing, got out of the station and was heading to a planet and without ceremony kicked back to main menu by the Adjudication Servers. Yesterday it was over 110 kick back by the Matchmaker Servers, today Adjudication what tomorrow?

Come on Frontier man up and admit this is your problem to sort out once and for all. You surely can see the massive amount of complaints about this issue? Don't be deaf to your player base please.

Crosspost from the Mysteries thread:

After reading "5 hrs!" posts, I started up my client expecting to take a shower and do some work during the download. However, it only took about 5 minutes, then I got the PLAY box. I shut the whole client down and restarted, just in case, but the Launcher shows "Elite : Dangerous 2.3.11 and I have PLAY. *shrug*

Now, I had gotten a very large update for 2.3.10 about a week or so ago (been in another game) and that one did take several hours. Maybe people's clients are behind? I am in the eastern US if that means anything...

What is an Adjudication Server?

"Adjudication Providers

Adjudication involves resolving any authorization conflicts that may occur when more than one Authorization provider is configured, by weighing the result of each Authorization provider's Access Decision. In WebLogic Server, an Adjudication provider is used to tally the results that multiple Access Decisions return, and determines the final PERMIT or DENY decision. An Adjudication provider may also specify what should be done when an answer of ABSTAIN is returned from a single Authorization provider's Access Decision."

You posited (you win todays word of the day) before that they should increase the servers being used by a quarter, I think they should double the AWS servers. :O

New PS4 is swamping them I reckon.

Curious to know how many CMDRs are active now, but that's a marketing secret of course for competitive business reasons.

New pic for Jonty - same hat! lol

I don't have enough room in my magic ingredient bag for planing that far ahead.

Ozram, you start to scare me.

Look at the content of your post, then look at your avatar, then look at the top right at your post's number....

Or I shouldn't get onto the forum before I've had my coffee

Is anybody else having a lot of micro stuttering since the update?

Yep! Me! I didn't have any before the last update.
Playing in custom settings like this:

Horrible hard stutter each time a new thing like a planet/station/base... is loaded into my screen (even from far away)

PC is far from working hard to get the constant 90FPS and I even tried to lock the FPS to 45 and it's the same.

Nope

I swear as a Founder of this game I am almost at my wits end. I keep getting server disconnections all the sodding time. It's driving me crazy!

Fix the sodding servers PLEASE!
