I don't know. 2.3 has already had several updates. The base DLC came with some pretty significant upgrades.

I love the raining skimmers! Why don't they explode when they hit the ground, though?

Naaah, Valve are just copying Frontier. Do you know HOW LONG it took Frontier to release Elite 4, aka Elite Dangerous? (Hint: Elite 3 was released 2 decades ago.)I have it on good authority that Frontier operates on something known as Valve Time.
And you believed them? :-DFrontier said 2.4 would launch in Q3 2017. That means September at the latest. That's before Frontier Expo in October.
Can Frontier sticky this at the top of the forum?I stopped playing Elite to play Mechwarrior Online because I'm a grognard like that. Anyway, the rundown for that game was pay 70 dollars every time you want a new Mech, and PGI only tweaked spreadsheets. Finally though, after some 5 years, they've added a few new weapons, and a decal system. Still the same 6-8 maps, still the same crap.
So then I tried IL-2 BOS for its VR. The VR was horrible, and anyone complaining about it was silenced with "I'll tell them to just take it out" and "It's not a bug that your framerate drops by 50-60% whenever text is on screen". Also that game cost 80 dollars, with 20 dollar add on planes and 2 other sets that cost 80 dollars too. Both teams, PGI and 777 studios claim they don't have enough manpower or money to develop at a normal rate of speed.
By comparison, the Fdev team is giving us 10 fold the updates on an even more shoestring budget. That's why as soon as I'm getting cashflow again I'm going to buy every damn paint job and everything for this game. Hell, I must have spent 800 on Mechwarrior Online, and I know I've spent 200 on IL-2. Meanwhile I'm still impressed by Elite for a measly 100 bucks. This is why Elite always wins.
Um.. Why? Because you say so?
They'll give us more information when they're ready. We already have a lot of information. I'd rather they got on with developing 2.4 instead of talking about it.

thanks for the info. i used to own mechwarrior games in the 90s both battletech board game and the ones on pc and i was thinking about mechwarrior online until this post so you saved me the money.I stopped playing Elite to play Mechwarrior Online because I'm a grognard like that. Love this kind of response. As if it's completely unreasonable to ask for a little info about the next update.

Which year?October?![]()
Although I obviously hope you're right, after the poorest year of this game's development when all we got was 2.3 which was very frugal to say the least, it's very, very hard to get enthusiastic right now...
Many people have said this exact thing on the eve of every update since I started...how did that work out ye might ask...sort of a mixed bag in that respect :x
The more recent trend would lead one to assume its gonna be a major escalation of this thargoid stuff. Pieces have been moved on the board that many have either missed or werent interested in, and stories have been played out. Time fer the next chapter cos they really aint gonna take a step back at this point...the point of no return.
Thats predictable...any the stuff Im personally interested in will be the filler that goes with it...if at all which I highly doubt ^
I bet they have plenty of cool things we don't know about coming in 2.4. Don't meh it, give it a chance![]()
I feel you. When did you start playing ? I had a great load of fun for the major part of the dev time up to now ! Like I said above, it's the more recent updates that are bothering me a little...
I say it in almost every thread concerning speculations and upcoming/released updates : to me the worst thing is FDev communication. If we had a better way of sharing the communitys ideas and thoughts with the dev team maybe the game would get back up.
But hey, now that every important platform is covered by the game maybe they'll focus more on content (content people ask for) and surprise us !
The best we can do is keep giving feedack and hope someone will listen !![]()
I agree with you, since 2.2 I feel like some decisions were made in the wrong direction. The thing is, in a game as wide as ED, you can't please everybody. So I guess they kinda know what they're doing (1).
Hope lives on !

Bout a year and half go, several months before the casino was unleashed...must have been after the time when others claimed communication was better because its always been this bad from what I can see. Apparently, frontier didnt appreciate the salt and decided to stop communicating entirely, though this happened before my time, so Im not entirely sure what happened.
Too stressful worrying about it...I got fed up waiting to be surprised so I tend to care less these days. And giving them feedback...I seem to remember from when I did beta testing...not on this game I might add...that feedback required actual communication in order to mean it was effective. So yeah...about that...covered in the first part.
Anyway...Im just gonna chill out, sit back and wait. Im not in the least bit interested in these thargoid things or the lore...theres only one thing Im waiting for or in the least bit interested in, and as far as they seem concerned...lets just say it took 4 months and many megathreads just to get them to say they were aware of it ^
Meh to 2.4, I want to know exactly what's coming in season 3![]()
Whatever is coming in 2.4, you can be sure they'll trot out Ed and he will be very excited about it.
/sigh
