I just HOPE they add at least local LAN multiplayer because me and the missus would love a good diving and exploration game.

Food and water might be an issue in the beginning though but at the same time, one could assign hunter/gatherer roles with multiplayer.

EDIT: How much LARGER is the map now? I have not looked into it for awhile.

Yeah, simple multiplayer would be nice. Maybe before the end of the year, but no promises.

The map has been the same size for over a year now. However, Biomes have been reworked and empty areas have been filled in. I don't know how long you've been out of it but there is now a fairly large biome added to the "underworld". There is a brine river and a lava zone.

CYCLOPS SILENT RUNNING MODE

This update features our biggest overhaul to the Cyclops yet. Included in the long list of changes is a new Silent Running mode. This mode changes interior lights to red, turns off all exterior lights and moves the vessel exceedingly slow. Useful if you find yourself navigating through dangerous creatures who, thanks to this update, are now interested in attacking your beloved Cyclops!

Subnautica Xbox fans might be pleased to know they squashed the superbug that has held up the last two updates, but that caused other problems which are currently being fixed.

So, Silent Running and Voice of the Deep updates for Xbox soon.

How well does this game translate to the oculus? Can you get away sitting in a chair just using the oculus controllers? Or is a keyboard etc still required.

I've been holding off on playing Subnautica in VR in the Vive until they integrate the Vive wand's into the game. This game simply begs to play in room scale, and the last time I tried to play in VR, it seemed to be gamepad only.

I just come back to this one after a long break from it.

Took out my cyclops for a spin. The new HUD for it looks fantastic. Flank speed and everything? I felt like captain Nemo.

I saw some bonesharks. I carried on, as before.

I got absolutely hammered. Leaks everywhere, the sub on fire, smoke, all while trying to run away from bonesharks.

I loved it so much I want to put a plug in my bathtub, put the shower on, and play it in there.

Yeah I'm looking forward to playing this again also. I want to wait for main release, maybe that's not necessary now as it's about as feature complete as it's going to get?

did all game saves get wiped? (or do they not back up to the steam cloud)

dont get me wrong i am not complaining, i only had a very quick dabble about 6 months ago, then left it as i wanted to wait till feature complete, but i do want to know that when i do fully commit to it, my progress will be safe.

i logged in a week ago and my save was gone (but this was on a new pc reinstall....... and not everything backs up to the cloud - i lost my ETS2 save :( )

My back up save is just a base built on the edge of the floating islands trench. No exploration of wreckages, absolutely no investigation of the Aurora or anything else. This save is 136MB big.

I doubt they go to the cloud.

By the way, how on earth do you get the Cyclops to the inactive lava zone at the moment? I can't find the entrance now that the path to the lost river is a bit overgrown.
