Elite: Dangerous Mega Survey Results

Indeed it is. However, the entire argument stems from this:

When counting votes, stating that something has the majority automatically infers that one group received more than half of the votes. That what majority means in the context of a vote (it doesn't matter how many votes options there are).

I suspect this 12 page argument, stems from each person's interpretation of Driver's post.
From my perspective, Driver is incorrect. The majority have not voted for Open Play.

So it's all Drivers fault. :p

It's definitely a relative majority though ;)

You don't understand.
I do. I always did. I repeatedly said that Russel and Cagman are correct.

An irony im enjoying right now is that while we are all on here flinging Oxford concise quotes back and forth and knifing each other in the feelies it's fair to say the majority of us aren't actually playing Elite in any mode.

No they did not get a majority of the share... they got what is called a Plurality. Read up about it and learn the difference between Majority and Plurality, and we will never again have to discuss this matter.

I know the meaning of the two. Plurality is votes in an election. Are we electing people here. That is what Theresa May got and needed a deal to get an absolute majority over everybody else. We are not talking about absolute majorities or elections. The word majority does not mean the same as overall or absolute majority.

It's to be someons fault in the end!

But what?

wut?

you mean?

faulty!

yes!

who?

You?

no, you.

Let's enjoy times shortly after kindergarten. This were the times.

or Oasis: Definitly Maybe.

smoke more Onionhead.

Right .. are we all on the same page now... can we get back to the actual thread?

.. Or has someone else got something we can argue over? :D

I don't see 777Driver mention overall or absolute majority there either.

I already answered your second point. As for the first, yes I could see how many duplicate submissions there were, and the number was irrelevant.

Correct, you did. You didn't contact Frontier.

I can't even remember what information you had to put in when filling out the survey, but even if it was email addresses you have no way of knowing how many different email addresses one person used. Even if Frontier did an official poll tied to the launcher (so they were guaranteed to own the game) it still wouldn't mean one person one vote, as many people have multiple accounts.

Hopefully Frontier do a survey similar to this; as they did with that Instant/Delayed ship transfer poll.
Just log into the website, do the survey - done and dusted.
Use that information to improve the game.
Publish the results when it's done.

OP, Thanks for putting this together....
Just Hope FD does something with it, Like removing CQC from the stats in Game :)
