Agreed, I can't really see any reason to think the statements about Raxxla are false.

I also don't think FD are going to be daft on this one. It's going to be a long time before the game's going to be able to deliver on people's expectations for Raxxla and so I can't see it being discoverable (at least not in a meaningful way) at present.

Otherwise I'd imagine it going down in the annals something like this:

"And lo, in the year 3303 did occur the discovery of the fabled Raxxla.

And the legends were indeed true, Raxxla was a gateway to another universe.

A universe composed entirely of sodium chloride.

And there was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth.

And the silos did overfloweth and all did wither and die.

Thus did perish our universe."

;)
To be fair, my Galnet Write-up on PF corruption was denied due to 'being to close to the story'. Also, it was stated a while back that Raxxla's finding will change everything. As I said, Founder's World in Shinrarta Dezhra is currently the best canidate to being Raxxla. It isn't my fault it wasn't too well hidden.

That's interesting on the PF galnet, what was the gist of it? (Though as far as I'm concerned PF corruption is beyond a shadow of a doubt as they control the permits and sectors don't get 'unknown permit' locked without a reason. Plus Wreaken's access into Col 70, etc.)

As it stands I disagree about Founder's World, but equally I don't know your rationale for thinking it is. Would definitely be interested in hearing it, if you don't mind repeating it. Can't promise I'll agree though! ;)

According to Premonition, the control PF has over permits is limited.

As Bill Turner says about the Unknown permit for COL 70: 'They(PF) certainly enforce certain system permits, but these ones? No. This is something else. It’s a convenient fiction that the Pilots’ Federation manages this.’

It's also stated that 'The Founders' are a separate group that sits above PF.

Ah, good point, had forgotten about that.

So who do we think does manage the Unknown Permits?

Personally I took the bit about 'The Founders' to not be anything more than a dramatisation into game lore of what happened with the kickstarter. Could be wrong though! :D

Maybe thargoids can block our FSD's, and the "Unknown permit" refers to your nav computer knowing it's being blocked. It only knows of permits that do this, but it doesn't know anything about the permit, hence, it comes up with, "Unknown permit"

Or you know, maybe it's just that FD lock areas off and don't need a reason :)

Ha ha ha! Very true! Though they'll need to come up with a lore based version of 'locked for future content' at some point!

Good potential explanation as well, but I wouldn't think Thargoids covers every Unknown Permit area, plus Wreaken have access to the same Unknown Permit locked sector that a Thargoid armada are in, which strongly suggests the locking is human controlled and not down to the Thargoids. (Well, for some of it at least. No reason why there can't be multiple causes for Unknown Permit locks I suppose! :) )

Hi all,

I was leafing through the flavour text in the shipyard today when I stumbled across an interesting tidbit in the description of the Diamondback Explorer. It mentions that the DBX was built as a smaller, cheaper version of the ASP that can also operate in hostile environments. Anybody who has come across a railgun ASP in a CZ will tell you that they're certainly capable of being pretty hostile, so what makes the DBX better suited to it? The DBX is the smallest ship, alongside the Vulture, that has a large hardpoint, and from what I've seen the PMC guys operating around the Pleiades seem to love using them equipped with Plasma Accelerators. The description even mentions that the DBX was designed "[in] response to criticism of the original Diamondback ship class": the DBS (described as a "specialist combat explorer vessel") features only medium and small hardpoints, so it looks like whoever was doing the criticizing really wanted those large PAs. Are they protecting themselves against intruding commanders, or is this a sign of what we'll need to fend off the Thargoids?

PS: sorry if this is the wrong thread for conspiracy discussions, I've not found another thread for this topic and this seems like the most relevant. Also sorry if this topic has been bought up before, this thread is a monster.

Got a mail with a link to the 2.4 teaser trailer on YouTube and could open it for a short time. At 0.25 speed, many interlaced scenes, most of them old. But what do you think of this?

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/373302-2-4-Teaser?p=5858937#post5858937

The sequence is very short, the Thargoid fires a stream of "red projectiles" at the Vette. The picture is all I could get in time, unfortunately.

EDIT: they uploaded the trailer again, new link is https://youtu.be/All1Fq3vt6U. The scene in question is at 0:30s, very short, use slow motion.

O7,

Maybe the one in the Beta (in the CG system) - it has a close star that is overhead now and does look rather fabulous.
