Testing new weapons is necessary but they handled this quite careless imho.
That Thargoid first sent of a sort of emp burst trying to stop us following him, he didn't seek the confrontation knowing that he would have to kill us if he didn't send out that emp burst.
But noooo, we have countermeasures and start shooting experimental missiles at him, missiles we don't even know of how much damage they do.
When I look at that Thargoid turning around I imagine him thinking "Ugh, you're realy begging me to kill you aren't you?"
Before he unleashes his thargons he growls something like "Well here you go then morons"
It was a careless testrun and a waste of assets imho.
But what can you expect, I believe Aegis is just another name for Inra and Inra was stupid enough to try and exterminate the Thargoids, something they brilliantly failed to do.
I'm still baffled why the Thargoids don't simply kill us on sight after what Inra did.
The only logical conclusion to that is that the Thargoids we see now are Oresians who try to get us between them and the Klaxians.
However, if FD handles the Return right we're in for some exciting addition to ED, I'm looking forward to it.
