When I saw this I was done with this "project" honestly I was...

That gif is star citizen in a nutshell
But what was it actually about? When and why did he make that hand gesture?

Here's another one... how do they square in their minds the whole "Its talking longer because they expanded the scope" when what they will be getting as part of 3.0 is less than was promised for 3.0 one year ago???
Ah, here we go. Let's see what 3.0 will actually bring now compared to what they promised it would contain a few months back.
The fun part then starts as we watch the fans do mental gymnastics in order to convince themselves this is all ok and what CIG planned all along.
I suspect we will hear a lot of "Better CIG take their time and do things right rather than rush it" type comments.

So, the mental gymnastics have started.

They actually had me reading the announcement half a dozen times just to make sure i wasn't going crazy.
They are saying because it says "one of" it doesn't mean the other two won't be there. I guess we will have to wait and see. Could be just bad wording.
Was there no plan to have the main planet landable as well? For some reason i thought the plan was 1 planet and its 3 moons.

Taken from the comment section.....
Think you over complicated this. But the development of this game went off track years ago. Chris Roberts got carried away and embraced feature creep and bloat. That was, I think, mistake 1. Mistake 2 was sticking with CryEngine. I can't say if that was a wise choice for the game originally pitched, but I assume that it would have been possible, but I can't see how anyone can think it suited for the game CIG are developing now. I firmly believe that if CIG had taken a year or two to develop their own core engine and netcode, they would currently be much further along in the development of Star Citizen.
We all saw the demo at GC17. Those graphics looked years out of date. Granted, the actual worlds looked good but the ships, characters and so on need a complete overhaul.

I can see two mistakes:
- Chris Roberts
- See Point 1.
That is all.

The human mind is not capable of comprehending such levels of realism, immersion and fidelity.
Best not ask questions about such, it's better for you, me, and everyone else if you just believe in the Vision and buy an Idris.
Dear $deity - I've just watched a certain popular youtuber who suggests that 2018 will be mainly about ship rebalancing. How can that be possible when there is no game for these ships to partake in? Why go to the great expense of time and money redeveloping these immersion chariots when there's nothing for them to do in-game, and nothing for the player to participate in apart from accept further delay and not get the immersion chariot they have already paid cash for?

But which year?Incidentally, the "no bamboozles" chap has given up on up his statistical predictions with a final prediction that 3.0 will probably be available by Citizencon, and it will 100% certainly be available by Christmas at the very latest. Who'd have thought?https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitize...mboozles_release_forecast_for_september_23rd/
Thats a 4500 word post. Honestly, a tl;dr would be fine, but I assume it is 'CIG bad, no hope, SC will fail' or some such.![]()
