Never bothered with the Defera invasion zone. Looked boring when I popped in to check it out, then left.
As for ED being better...well...I couldn't say. Too different to compare. STO is certainly raking in more money, so they must be doing something right. ED is more interesting to me personally but their quality control issues speak for themselves.
Only reason i used Defera cause it was good for grindin out the FM's for fleet projects.... but eventually i gave up on that. Found reps better to get gear from. And if i couldnt get it from reps, i bought it off exchange lol. About the only time i play STO now, is when they give away a free ship for their anniversaries or whatever.
What i mean ED being better than STO, is the fact you can travel from system to system, planet to planet, even though atmospheric planets can not be landed on as of yet. STO, is just a heap of different small maps basically. You would think with procedural generation, Cryptic would look at trying to implement it into STO. But, who knows, maybe they will oneday. I do realise however, STO is in a class of its own compared to ED.
Im still relatively new to ED, but from what i have seen, i like it. Sure, it would be great to land on atmospheric planets,(which i read somewhere they are planning??), but still a great game, loads of fun to have with friends, which is what its all about really, isnt it? Fun?
