PS4 Compass Bug found

Hello,

Since the 2.4 update when I plot a course, sometimes (2-3 out of 10 jumps) I just end up half way there and the compass is not on my dash when I come out of hyperspace?, when I open galaxy map I see everything on my route is fine and marked correctly and the compass should have been there when I came out of hyperspace but it was not, after I open and close the galaxy map the compass will be there like it should be, also sometimes when i set a route and close my galaxy map the yellow semi circle direction indicator is not there, but as soon as the FSD starts charging it pops up. Thats all I got for the PS4, GL and HH. Great game by the way.
 
I have problems understanding the rocket nerf. Is it a bug or not?

It's intended, apparently it's supposed to mean that the Thargoids are adapting. They are adapting by lowering the missiles breach values, I guess they've infiltrated military facilities in the bubble and sabotaged missile manufacturing factories, so now all AX missiles do less damage than they did yesterday. Or something like that. Best not to think about it too hard.
 
Has there been any news on the Xbox patch yet?? I feel like I'm missing out now that the hyperdiction thargoids have been "adjusted" to behave the way they should.

So when you log out at a planetary scan site and then log back in and it's disappeared - I assume that's simply to stop exploiting the repeat scanning etc? I'd prefer that to just be said and be nice and transparent in meaning.

That was this way, even before 2.4
 
Please tell me the mission boards did not get nerfed! I was finally able to get a good variety of missions at my home stations. It better not be back to the old 15 missions total on the board with half of them mining missions.
 
It would be really cool if the mission system self-balanced based on how many players are taking certain missions. For instance, if missions to Colonia never is done by anyone, then the system would automatically increase the prices, like it would be done in real life.

This is actually a pretty genius idea imo. it would certainly fix people playing the exploits or at least people publicly making the knowledge of exploits available. Like Quince and Rhea, the more that do it, the more the prices drop. Brilliant suggestion. Please post that in the suggestions sub-forum.
Of course you don't want the prices rising too high either, they'd have to be capped as they would in real life too. This could apply to any mission type that frequently spawns on boards in certain systems. Planetary scan missions, passenger missions to close by beacons or systems, massacre missions.
Probably would work on a minor faction basis though. Yeah you have something there.
Also, even though it's not totally logical, for the sake of some gameplay, the mission rewards should not only scale better based on your rank and rep but also on your current bank balance.


EDIT: A big cautionary thanks to FDev for the welcome changes in 2.4.0.2. Not been in to look at the fallout yet but I hope some places are bombed to hell and others are left standing. I fear that may not be the case but we'll see. Either way I would say well hammered but keep the hammer handy for now...

Am I missing something or has the problem still not been resolved?

They are nerfed and back to the old crappy 2.3 amounts of missions. Oh and passenger mission payouts got nerfed all over too. Have fun! [blah]
 
Instead of nerfing by hand, they should just implement a system that nerfs itself.

If there are loads of people who want to do that mission, then just pay them less. And if the mission has been done often enough, offer it less often. I mean, you want data delivered, or a planet scanned, sure. But if 500 people do that for 5 hours, I'd think you have all the data delivered that you ever needed delivered. Why would you want to transport more?

And if no one wants to do the you ask for, like bringing people 20kLy just increase the reward.

It's the plain logic of supply and demand. Maybe have a hard cap at say 40 million to avoid it becoming ridiculous.
People would find rare opportunities, exploit them, maybe get rich. After 4 or 5 runs it'd be back to a normal price, and if people flock, then it'd drop until people don't want to do it anymore.
The downside: People would disperse more, trying to find systems no-one goes to, in a hope they'd find some nice payouts. But such systems with low population would have little money to pay for missions, the cap would be lower.

The other solution I have: Pay by time investment. Mining specific stuff takes forever. Carrying something 500ly takes a long time, maybe 10 or 20 minutes. Carrying somethign 20kLy takes a few days.

The thing frontier doesn't seem to understand is that people have OTHER STUFF TO DO in their life. I've been playing since beta. I got 420hours in, And just a few months ago I could buy myself a python by playing legit, that is res grinding. I didn't want to cheat and exploit, but frontier just forced my hand. 17 draconis came along, and I took the chance. Had I not been doing that, I'd still sit in my python, and I would for another year or 2.

It's not only about money either. Engineers are a grind, federation and empire ranks are a grind, pilots federation ranks are a grind.
I like the game, it's just so frustrating that I take loooong breaks from it, a month or two after playing for 2 weeks.

But I can complain all I want, it won't change a thing. I can propose adivce all I want, I can post bug reports, I can shout, I can scream, I can cry and I can throw myself on the floor and thrash about. None of that helps. And here we are, all doing it anyway, hoping it would help.

It will not. Because no one in FDEV cares to read this crap in the first place.
I found the noisiest people are in the minority usually. I wonder if so many people here complaining really are just a few percent of the playerbase, and everybody else is happy with how things are going?
I don't know.
Perhaps they should have a poll in game or something, asking for opinions. Perhaps that'd give a better picture or what all the players actually want...
 
Puzzled by the 'No Fire Zone size' fix ... for me its always 10k from the station, never seen 6k. so the new 8k will be a reduction !!

Coriolis and Ocellus stations it was 6km from the centre of the station (the little icon that distances are measured from) - so that means 4km from the slot - so now it will be 8km from the slot. I assume Orbis are not changed.

I think the best idea for me and everyone who finds this proposal useful.
Screw elite, wait few months till FDEV get their stupid thargoid event progression out of their head and just play final state. Screw those useless CGs, ignore alien signals. Take a few months break. Avoid stressful "balances". Or just do relaxing exploration while not caring about the damn leafed s.

Or do your own thing continue playing as you do now and like. But for me it's least stressful to ignore all of this. Things are moving way too fast for me to not lose my mind to sheer lack of QA and testing that is put into this game. If game was locked in Rhea state i'd be happy. Wonder if more people would be happy in Rhea state of after as it is now.
