The Death Thread

OK - so I was a bit miffed yesterday when I launched from station for the first time only to find the station disappear on me and my ship crashing into the (invisible) letterbox - obviously I had no idea what the rotation of the letterbox was at the time as it was invisible.
So - I went into my stats and found 2 deaths in there. I was confused till I realised that FD have reset money and progress to 0 but they have not reset the amount of times you die or the count of the time you have played for.
That's not really on in my book - either reset all or none. What do you guys think ?

I had this today. Very strange. Station disappeared around me, but it said I had "launched" and the station was 2km away but I was hitting stuff and then blew up

I haven't got too much of a problem with that bit - bugs happen and I sent in a bug rep and asked for the death to be taken off my stats.
My problem is the reset of some of your profile but not the bit that makes you look like a spacegimp.

Surprisingly my Stats haven't changed but my credit did drop back to 1000 cr when I checked it in ship.

I think you worry too much about beta!.

to be honest, I do not care either way, but that being said I am kind of happy to see my stats stay, so long as the money and ship progress is gone.

its not like it will hold you back in anyway, its just a nice account of your progress.

i am confident it will be a full wipe before gamma, and so long as that happens I dont worry.

seriously? IF you managed to only die once through out the entire premium beta (and it wasnt through killing your game to keep numbers down) that isnt spacegimp, that is pretty amazing TBH. I died a lot more than you (AND I am sad to admit, when killed by a prat antisocial human I did quit out a few times on top of that)

FD may have forgotten to reset that part of the stats, so why not raise a ticket and explain this?

And yes - I only managed to die once in BP. On another famous space sim, I would be called a "CareBear" and get flamed off the forum

Heh. Don't get too attached to your stats. Any number could double, halve, stop updating altogether or reset without warning. All it takes is the Beta Gremlins drinking too much coffee...
