Why do Developers dont give a single notice or interaction on PvP Subforum?

Guys you pvpers may feel hard done by and ignored but it is nothing compared to the solo player. Almost ALL the solo player content in DDF has been replaced by direct multiplayer stuff - be it PvP or coop.
At least you CAN have wingmates and crew mates and like it or not, cqc WAS an entire point update purely for PvP.
Hard done by...... You lot have it good! .......

I suggest leaving solo if you feel left out. Thats on you. Every part of the game can be played in any mode. Literally nothing to complain about here.

I am personally looking Crime and Punishment updates to have more consistent gameplay around commander vs. commander. First of all, combat logging, griefing, etc. just have to have in-game consequences. It will take long time to balance them right, but I believe FD does the right thing here. Second, NPC system security needs to have equal hardware with hardest hitters. It is out of balance at the moment and it has been for too long.

After those two things I will start to see PvP discussion shift. At current stage it is about ganking, essentially. Who has bigger guns and mods - as in any MMO basically. And that's boring really. There's nothing much to discuss.

Very few commanders engage in in-game RP PvP - only PvP FD really should care about. I hope those updates will make such approach more appealing.

Now this might be just an impression, but I was always under the assumption that most "PvP Posts" basically were done for pure Attention-Seeking (can't use the proper word here).
Either due to character traits by the respective OP and/or to create Youtube revenue/clickbait, only in rare cases have I ever seen something very interesting that did not match those two criteria.

And now there's yet another Threadstarter demanding... "Give us more attention!". *uhm*

PS.
I also assume the PvP area was eventually separated from the main Discussions Forum to create an offload area for all those juvenile cries for attention (PEGI-7 be damned) and keep the Main Forum a tad more clean.
As it looks like right now, that worked like a charm.
And most notably, no other "Interest Group" having its respective SubForum has ever complained about being situated there nor demanded to take a more prominent/central role. Seems those are all a little more mature.

I will suspect that PvP was split off from main discussion for same reasons as Thargoids are. Which is just organisational decision and nothing to do with internal policies.

I just did a comparison with the exploration sub-forum, and i think we can all agree, Exploration is a much bigger part of ED than PvP and certainly has had much more of an impact on the game. Its certainly contributed to a lot of Asp in front of things posts on reddit at least :D

So, first page of the explorers sub-forum in terms of dev comments (and bear in mind, this is going back a lot longer than the PvP sub-forum has exited.

1) Michael Brookes thanking someone for the gifts in the fuel rats thread... not sure what that is about. Maybe that's how you get a dev response, bribe them :D

2) Brett making a comment about stickies.

3) Ed Lewis saying he would take part in Distant Worlds 2 (hmm.... the devs do play the game shock!)

4) And from April, Brett taking note of how someone had used EDSM to draw a coriolis station on the galaxy map.

Now, considering this, does it mean that exploration posts are getting more attention from the devs than the PvPers? Doesn't really seem like it to me. Does it mean that exploration threads were shunted off to be ignored there? Nope.

Amazingly enough, the exploration sub forum was provided based on requests from explorers, just like the PvP sub forum was provided based on requests from PvPers.

If you want to complain about it. Don't complain to FD, complain to the PvPers who requested their own sub forum :p

I seriously doubt the intent of the forum reorganization was an intended slight to anyone or anything. It does say PVP is a dedicated feature of the game. Its does make it easier for someone to find combat tips, load out configurations, controller setup tips, etc. The question was answered pages ago close the thread/

The development history thru every beta I have observed is that ALL feedback is appreciated and that some changes are not implemented in a manner which we can all agree on. Combat players have add to much to the core game features and contributed meaningfully to alien interactions, and not always in a manner we can all agree on.

Elite is like a microcosm of society. We have hunters, gathers, explorers... and the occasional murder flirt... :p
I was taking by surprise and murdered earlier today in open, in the Rhea system... the flirt. She failed to respond to my direct rematch request, the little minx..

Do try and have a conversation without devolving to petty sniping. Its not constructive nor professional. Of coarse snarky comments are always welcomed... blame the pvpers? On come on Aunt... bribes to the devs? If I ship you crates of Cinnabons sweet rolls, err, plates of pasta carbonara can we get a server based in Dallas please... please... *jumps up and down..

Simply put, PVP forum was made for general PVP discourse, PVP information, ship builds, and so forth. Granted, over time, i feel it'll turn into a LAWL NEWB GIT GUD, and will invalidate the forums existence. Which would be quite unfortunate, so i hope that won't happen.

The PVP forum was added due to it surpassing a threshold i set a few years back on activity based per keywords/hot-word matching, in addition to observations. It worked out nicely due to the planned forum revamp as well.

Do we read threads in those sub-forums? Yes, very much so yes, day in and out.
Will we (the devs or CM team, or what have you in mind) reply to said threads? No, probably not.

The best part of it is that it seems to have cut down on the 'griefer' threads..

Sorry mate but this is just an embarrassing statement.

Making footage of the murder of another helpless guy(s) and bragging about it on youtube to mine salt of said guy doesn't really help to raise the popularity of the PvP crowd.

That's a very disrespectful message to the OP and other PvPers (and I say that as an independent, I don't PvP yet). Your message amounts to 'yeh, we're looking, but you are such a bunch of salt farmers that we have nothing to say to you', and while that might be accurate on the whole, there are plenty of posts and users who give considered and well expressed opinions. To say 'probably not' as a thing going forward into the future, COMBINED with the phrase 'whatever you have in mind' (sic: there's nobody that's going to give you any attention, now or ever, let alone a dev or CM) indicates your total derision of that forum and its populace.

Funny, usually CM posts are over the top diplomatic then one comes right out of left field...

I'm sure it doesn't, but each to their own. Many PvPers dedicate very serious time to helping and informing everyone they can. In any case, I'm not here to engage in a PvP v. PvE dung-flinging match.

It's embarrassing that a community manager is tarring an entire player base with the same brush, showing contempt and throwing in a somewhat incendiary comment to boot. It serves no purpose but to reinforce the "I hate PvPers!" kneejerk response that you among others are exhibiting. And I can assure you that if the community wants to maintain that stance, it's not going to stop any ganking videos.

Its really frustrating to have a thread like hotel california exist for 5 years. There is obviously a call for this stuff. The thread wouldn't have been ongoing for no reason.
The reason that threadzilla lived for so long is that there's disagreement within the community. That thread can't be used to point to 'a call for this stuff' without acknowledging there is also a call to not have that stuff.

Whatever that stuff may be.

And whose fault do you think it is that this is the only viable pvp in the game that makes them laugh? Fortunately, I'm not in such need of laughs that I need to get them at the misfortune of others, however, I can also see the funny side. And a game is to have fun.

As the age old adage goes, don't hate the player, hate the game.

I read it more than any thread is unlikely to get a Dev or CM reply, regardless of which forum it's in.
