I assumed it was this under "Challenge Scenarios" ..

.. but now I think about it, didn't SJA re-vamp the docking computer to make it cope much better with speed docking? It might be referring to that.

Would be a little bit late though as the docking computer has been like that for a while as you said by SJA. Interesting what it might be then, thanks for all the replies though o7

From the 2.3 patch notes:

• Added some new challenge scenarios
- 4 new Incursion scenarios
- Speed docking
- Driver challenge
- Ship launched fighter challenge

So they are definitely new challenges, but not quite sure what relates to what in Alec's screengrab and I can't remember which ones were there before. EDIT: checked in-game, don't see an SLF challenge, perhaps the Incursion scenarios feature an SLF? Anyway must do these they sound fun.

I'm playing in solo, so there isn't anyone to take up the other missions, so I'm not entirely certain what you mean. I know somewhat how the BGS works, but not nearly as much as experienced players. All I know is that after this patch there are quite less of them now, which is very much appreciated.

Now all they need to do is allow us to sort the board by mission type.

okay, that's not the post i quoted and replied to, but oh well, that's fine i guess

I believe there's a filter on the top of the missionb board so that you can select only the missions you want.

Please put out a fix to the Clippers shields! I just worked my butt off grinding for the Empire and finally got to Baron and was so excited that I could finally buy the Imperial Clipper. Come to find out, I can buy a really expensive Shield Generator (7a) but I honestly get better shields out of my Fer De Lance or even my Courier. After working so hard to earn the Clipper, I would like to be able to hold my own in battle like I can in the Fer De Lance. Please fix it! Please!

What are you smoking?

It's comparable to a Python in cargo and armour (slightly less cargo, slightly higher hull armour).
It's fast, in fact it's ridiculously quick - it's the fastest large OR medium ship in game, so it can escape any situation with ease and (like the Cutter) it mass locks anything faster than it.
It's as agile in a fight as a ViperIII or FdL, which is ridiculously good for a Large ship and it has a size-6 power distributor to give it excellent sustained firepower from the hardpoints it has.

On top of all that, it's only 22 Million CR! A similarly capable Python costs 57M CR and it's still less than half the price of the 52M FdL.

Moaning that it has smaller shields than an FdL is pretty ridiculous, since the FdL is uniquely a shield tank and has the largest shield (and most utility slots) of any medium ship.

CMDR IKH:
I have to agree with CMDR Zig. If you have/had any medium Federal ships, then you already know their shields are not their strength either; especially the FGS. My only wish for the iClipper, is that it could land on a medium size pad. Currently, my iCourier has shield strength that is just 2 points less than my iClipper. I know what you mean from that POV. And that's also an unfair comparison. The iCourier and the FDL are shield tanks. They're meant to be. The iClipper is not. It's meant to be fast and it does that incredibly well. So, you have to play to that strength and think outside the box a little bit. A few observations from using my own iClipper:

Think "less shields" and "more hull tank/battering ram." I was better off utilizing the optional internals "in conjunction with" the shields. I put MGC on mine. I loaded it with HRPs and MRPs. I used a Bi-Weave for awhile too. Much less power in MJs, but half the broken regen time of 7A and 4X less broken regen time than 7A prismatics---at a fraction of the cost and mass. Since BWs lower the mass, I got more out of the thrusters and FSD. Plus, with the speed and agility that CMDR Zig mentioned above, it's got great pull out potential when I can't hang around. Because of the internals, it's also a really good smuggling ship. (Provided we ever get descent smuggling missions back) Just my thoughts, for what it's worth. Happy Engineering!

The issue with imperial Clipper docking computer is that anything like the computer running out of time to land as i had a similar issue with my Python where when i switched to the docking computer it could not navigate to the entrance to the star port and ran out of time i had to dock manually.

This patch has completely broken my game, all the key bindings don't work properly the game is flaky at best.,

ok got it working again

Great!!

Now just get rid of that horrible re-buy penalty.

It is a terrible idea, that discourages PVP combat.

PVP combat is the biggest "Gem" of this game, because otherwise this game is boring (especially after you've played it as long as I have).

For all those little "snowflakes" out there that cry about losing a ship, they should just play in solo mode, (where the bots are pathetically easy).

Frontier out to come up with missions that pit humans together in PVP combat, both in space, and on the ground.

I just don't think Frontier has the creativity to make something like that a reality in this game!!!

Also, there are still people hacking this game, and cheating. Can't Frontier not end this hacking of the game???

So.... I probably will be moving on to other online multiplayer games, where maybe I can enjoy the challenges of other human players.

I here GTA5 is still an awesome game. I just might have to load it up, and try that out.

"Snowflake" ?
Really?
Why do you think that your schoolyard insults are the way to communicate your ideas?
There are people playing this game that are handicapped in various ways and have no ability to compete with human counterparts. That doesn't make them snowflakes.
I'm 62yrs old and although I hate to admit it I'm no longer as quick as I once was. Even so I can give a good account of myself but I don't see why I should risk hours of rebuy grind to satisfy you and yours. That does not make me "Snowflake"
I appreciate your sentiments re rebuy costs, you have a good idea there about nerfing them some, but I don't appreciate your infantile references. Those opinions you can keep to yourself thank you.
Your suggestion that you wish to leave this game is also welcomed. The sooner the better and good riddance.

Rick Storm:

Can you be specific as to the hacking and cheating?

Also, name calling, really?

If you wish to make an argument, back it up.

Declaratory statements don't prove anything.

Apparently people just like feeding trolls, even medeocre ones.
Point is that community alredy have a ready solution how to play with other players without any jerks involved in process. Its calld Mobius group. Only shame that it isnt FD provide such a thing.

1. Yup, some constructive PVP mechanics are needed to give PVP players something else to do than just ganking.
2. People here need to learn to read.
3. If the funny rebuy penalty is reason enough for you to give up, you are probably not ready for PVP in this already extremely ganker friendly game and need to git gud.

Hi, You say, in item 2, that "People here need to learn how to read", That is a fair comment but, having a grasp of the English language , is also just as important, I tried looking up " ganking, git gud, " but i could not find it in the oxford dictionary

I think I already debunked the 'Git Gud' call. The myth here is that everybody in open wants to fight other players and too bad if they don't because they should 'Git Gud'.
Some players aren't able, for one reason or another to 'Git Gud' but that counts for nothing after all it is 'Elite Dangerous'.
Well fair point or not while there isn't an 'Elite Kindergarten' mode it's all we've got, until you learn about Mobius or play alone in solo.

For those of you that like to say 'Git Gud' I say 'Get Lost!'.
Or maybe 'Get a Life!'

Open isn't that bad, sure cg and starter worlds are a bit sticky but otherwise ok. If I have an expensive ship or in exploration mode I would avoid, but otherwise it's intriguing to see the hollow rectangles around.

i wonder how moderators can close any thread at a whim and always keep off topic conversations alive for months in the patch notes thread in the news and bulletins section (which should ideally be read only, by the way) ...

You are quite right. My bad. I will remain quiet now.

I sure hope this downtime is to fix the crashes. I had 3 of them alone in the last 10 minutes, lost out on 15 missions. It's always in the same 3 or 4 situations.
