Modes Elite Dangerous PvE vs PvP and who needs a Solo play if you had PvE server

A proper PvE environment with PvP options would be a great addition to Elite Dangerous but it's not a replacement for Solo
PvE gaming is not single-player gaming. A lot of people, myself included, prefer single-player games for a lot of reasons.

MMO environments are major immersion breakers. They tend to feel like theme-parks. It's hard to get immersed in a world when you are waiting for the next mob to spawn alongside some random stranger named "lord1997" spamming sht like "wassap? where's this n mob? this ng game suxxxors"

The reason we have a Solo mode is because Frontier promised a single-player option but failed to deliver... so we have Solo mode and I'm grateful for it

I presume this discussion is for combat logging where it is proven to be combat logging. But some posts are worrying.
Example: Game on! "Dear, make me another Coffee please" .... game off! Done! Game on! "Dear, can you hang the washing out please?" Game off! Done! Game on! "Dear, your friend is at the door" Game off! Tea and bikkies! Done! .... Game on! Bathroom break! To much tea! Game off! Done! Game on! Damn, it's lunch time! Game off! Tea and sandwich! Back to game on while nibbling sandwich. Game off to wash up and check on boss lady. Water pot-plants out the front later. Ok. No, later. Game on! Time to water plant. game off! Job done! game on! Grandson turns up! "Papa, can I play Skyrim please?" Game off! More tea and bikkies! Dinner later. Game on! My turn in bath! Game off! Done! Game on!
Now, do you people ever work out how many times some of us have to turn off the game of Elite Dangerous? Didn't think so!

That's the difference between an online and a single player game. Here you are playing with real people and if you terminate the game midway you are affecting others.

If you cant have proper game time dont bother with open otherwise you will end up recorded and put to shame.

So true... Add to this some of the more moronic statements by some of the PvPers in this thread, and my position on MMO games and the morons who infest them are properly validated. I'm sure not everyone playing MMOs are complete loosers, but there are enough of them to poison the experience for those who have no use for these type of games. I'm all for a single-player version of this game! :)

And here you present the quite abysmal attitude of PvP players. "Play mah way or else!"!!!!!!oneoneoneone"

EVERYONE and that means abso-fricking-lutely EVERYONE has EVERY right to play this game the way THEY find it fun, within rules set by Frontier. Not by rules set by some random bunch of PvP enthusiasts.
If you decide that you are not having fun or time while in open and someone sees you, it is every single persons right to do JUST THAT.

Try to get this into your head. Other players are in NO WAY in this game for YOUR benefit. They are here only for their OWN fun.

If they choose to engage in activities in a way that you find to be fun, count your blessings. But never EVER assume that it is something you may expect.

Your "shaming" just shows how shallow and antisocial the group who post in those threads are.

Tell how someone else logging out into menu affects other players? Not in any meaningful negative way. It does not. Shooting and blowing up other players is not, and never has been, your unalienable right.

Its nothing but an organization on discord for getting into a wing, same old without any content.

It's people doing what they do in a sandbox game, making their own fun.

All Frontier have to do is provide the tools for us to make our fun fun, our own story - blaze our own trail.
The tools are there, use them with your imagination ad you have some great times ahead of you.

Relying on others for your fun means you'll never enjoy the game properly.

Not here to question the ins and outs of playing in open.

But do people really think that adding someones name to a list on a forum that they might or might not go to (I vist it but have never seen this fabled list.) and lets be honset here if they are CL then adding thier name all be it thier cmdr's name which might be one of many online names they use (I have 18 chars in SWKOTR for example, I use say the top 5 in most games I play) and then adding to that the only people who see this list is those who care about CL's thus the shame part isnt really shame is it, as the people who are doing the shaming are people the CL diddnt care for in the first place thus it holds no shame for the CL as he dosnt care what they think.

Its not like anyone is going to fly a banner behind a plane over my home town saying "Lokvette is a combat logging cheat" (just to add ive never CL on a person, I have done it on an npc, but I was in solo and had a lot of cash tied up in the cargo and wasnt about to lose it, and no I dont feel any shame about doing it, as I dont care about how anyone cares how I play or should be playing) but even then the only people who know me as Lokvette I can count on one hand. I guess this whole naming and shamming of CL's on reddit off all places is not really going to stop anyone doing it. sorry rant over just needed to get that out.

.... especially as when those other players don't share the same definition of "fun" they can choose to play the game without those who cause the game to be "unfun" (in at least two ways).

Its the difference between being a fun PvPer and a "PvPer." Over the last three years, I've seen numerous fun and consensual PvP tournaments organized by player groups. What you posted is one such example.

Fascinating that our self appointed advocate for forcing solo and PG players into dismisses such an example as something he's not interested in. After all, in PvP tournaments, the opposition are ready, willing, and able to fight back!

You just didnt understand anything innghat thread. Its not a competition or content of any kind. There is a PvP league for that, its different.

All this thread is talking about a diacord server who will help assign people in wings, its done anyway, they just added a bot to help.
There is still no content, fighting over nothing as ussual, gankfest will continue.

You will be surprised but people recognize loggers from this subreddit, myself saw few, they will be shamed in the comms, they care believe me.

If you logged in into OPEN you will be my content whether you like it or not, if you cheat you will be reported and put to shame on public forums and YouTube. I have few loggers "starring" in my YT channel.

If you are the standard of forum PvP, being better isn't difficult.

So. Are you all forum hard man, or are you going to make good on your threat of open players being your content?

Come and find me Sunshine.

Send me a friend request and I will find you, ....

The irony here is, it is easier to put someone on block from your friends list than it is in game.
In game requires them to be in your instance to start with, the friends list folks can be put directly on block from the main menu or in game without ever being in the instance.

So feel free to friend me, then try and find me in open - £50 says you don't :D

Send me a friend request and I will find you, unless you are barking from within your safe hole in SOLO, in that case GIT GUD and face me in open, assuming you can do more than being tough on the forums.
When I get back in the bubble, I'll friend you and show you I can be tough and face you in Open.

My weapon of choice is sarcasm. So bring your big boy pants.

Feel free to block me, couldn't care less if the whole forum will blocks me, I am only against it if there was any content to block against, unless you come to the CG in open we will never meet anyway.
