Xeno Ally nameplate??

...considering the US has the most mass shootings in the world as well as an extremely politically active and strong pro-gun movement and huge amounts of gun related violence outside of mass shootings... well, not exactly a peaceful nation.

That's mainly because of a powerful gun manufacturers' lobby that puts gun sales and marketing above lives, and a corrupt political system. Not so much because Americans are innately bloodthirsty.

Careful, we could go into British military history from the Opium Wars to The Falklands. And then there's the Middle Ages...

We don't know much about the Thargoids and even less about their intentions but what we do know is:-

  1. Thargoids abduct Occupied Escape Pods

They literally steal/fight for them against you. If you ever entered an Non Human USS and attempted to pick up those escape pods in a friendly way you will figure out what I am talking about.

I had real interesting escape pods pick up "battels" with them in my Mission to rescue as many of them as I can from them.

Most of the CMDRs sale them as slaves. For all we know, the Goids are saving those poor guys ! :D

Represents all that's wrong in western society today, either a psychopath warmonger or social justice warrior having something to prove.

Defo pro Thargoid here but that nameplate is not appealing.

Thargoids attack you when you try to scoop the pods because you get inside their "aggro range".

Also, why do Thargoids have tractor beams? I want tractor beams for my ships to avoid having to scoop things by flying into them.

I'll support Thargoids all the way if they have a tractor beam module for me as a carrot in the end.

Then why didn't they also destroy Donars Oak, also an Aegis station, located only seconds away from the Oracle station?
Also, if Thargoids were indisputably and irrevocably hostile why did they not attack stations in the Core worlds... it is not as if we have much of a chance of stopping them.

While we know they have shown an interest in occupied escape pods the reasoning could be to gather intelligence and/or to study us more closely. If we had an opportunity to capture a live Thargoid I think it would be incredibly naïve to assume that the Alliance, Federation or Imperials would not jump at the opportunity.

The Thargoid attacks on stations is not a Pearl Harbour, it is more like a Cuban Missile Crisis situation - and humans are the Russians IMO

We all know the reason why, and its not lore or story driven.

"I am the space commander in chief of the 82nd Lazor rangerz feared enemies of the thargoids and always ready to be the first to fight for the empurah. Frontier, how dare you put thargoids into this system it affects our BGS play, we didnt consent to this, the developer who pushed for this has *insert psychological analysis here* issues we're a triple elite rated group and i have 18 followers on the youtubez wah wah"

Sounds painful ...

Indeed, though not as bad as an ear of corn in the end.

Typing on my phone.. scanned this whole topic, am surprised nobody mentioned the logs found, apparently the thargoids specifically targeted those stations because Aegis had some new kind of thargoid tech onboard the stations.

This whole thing is definitely not going to be clear cut, if anything Aegis is becoming the bad guys.

It makes sense.

If youre going after your enemies factory, do.you burn down the place where he makes spears, or rifles?

You burn down their population centers so when they go to conscript workers, they only find corpses.

Everyone is a combatant, on one battlefield or another.

Rifles would be the priority, but... you would not necessarily take a gun to a knife fight nor necessarily a knife to a gun fight... depends on circumstances.

Take this attitude and you guarantee escalation, and probably prosecution in a war crimes court should you survive.
