Planets shown are Altair 1, a high metal content planet, and Darkes Hollow, a rocky planet. Like all HMC planets, Altair 1 is quite predictably and boringly beige in the current build. It's composed of mostly iron and nickel, so it has a lot of rusty browns and grays in the new version. Darkes Hollow looks decent in the current build, with some minor color variations, but it is still quite beige. It's primarily composed of iron and sulphur, which explains the yellows in the new version. Overall, I'm very impressed with these changes, and I absolutely love how the composition really informs the visuals. A lot of people are saying that these changes are "only" bringing planets back to where they were at 2.0, but this system actually seems a lot more in-depth than what we originally had and, most importantly, it's even more fun to look at. Images embedded below as well.
