It's an alliance ship so have look in major alliance ports, like in Alioth, and I'm sure you'll find it !

Ahh the forums at thier best, ask a simple question, get a smartarse well being just that.
And if you find both of them really annoying and unnecessary they can be turned off under Options>Audio>Ship Voice Settings.

Ah but it's the beta, and they want people to test things, and there's really no point in asking people to test something that's going to take them a week to acquire, so they may make it available more easily in the beta than in the live release.

Not a bad idea to get allies anyway of course (missions are better) but - just for info - Chieftain isn't I believe, rank locked?
Yip. They confirmed this on last weeks stream when they introduced the ship, 'The Alliance has no ranks, yet'.
There was also (at least I thought) a slight emphasis on the yet.

Poor FD....they role out of bed, stretch?, have a shower (I hope), get dressed, brush their teeth and have breakfast. Then they drive, bus or grab the train to work and make their way to their desk. It's probably 9 am and some one is complaining about it being cold this morning. They turn on their work station and BAAMM!!!!!!! The forums are alive with everyone wondering where the Beta is already.

also, the download will be slow, so I'll be happy if I can have a quick look at a new planet texture before I go sleepy byebo's tonight

If you have access to Shinrata Dezrha then Jameson Memorial would be a safe bet methinks [yesnod] and all modules should be there too.

Beta uses a savegame from weeks ago, no point in going there now...
