I'm screenshotting deadanus and Sole hunter's replies as prime examples of the lowest scum of humanity and sending it to FDev asking why the F#CK this is tollerated by mods.

Well you broke forum rules with this post, they didn't regardless of your opinion of tham.

Report it instead. I myself have done so with a few posts that I found utterly insensitive, disrespectful and unacceptable. Unfortunately I am not able to mod myself, being active in the thread, but others are on the case. Bear in mind it's after midnight in UK now and only couple mods are active at this time.

I myself am off to bed now, got work in the morning.

Again, please report any posts that you feel are breaking the forum rules and someone will look at them as soon as.

Hey all,

I know this is a sensitive subject, I know that full well enough - so do many of you and my volunteer moderators. But please, please do not pull this thread down to personal insults. Our moderators will moderate posts/content doing such accordingly. Unfortunately, this may lead to short-term forum suspensions for such posted content.

We're all human here. Let's not berate one another.

This makes me really sad. For the community, for those directly affected, and for the game. Games are supposed to be a place where we have fun and relax, but this has taken Elite Dangerous somewhere nobody wants to see it go. It’s too bad.

A new feature request has shot up to the top for me on my wishlist for 3.0 Q1. Please Frontier finally just get rid of UA bombing? If this doesn’t illustrate why this mechanic is just rife for abuse possibilities I don’t know what will.

It's kinda sad people are pointing the finger at FDev. Unless they can predict what a player is going to do at any given time, which is impossible. No one saw this coming.

Some of the comments aren't even related to what's happened, it's just people ranting at each other. Which in a sense it's expected.

The simple thing to do is load up on MAs and atleast try resolve it in game. If FDev steps in and resolves the issue then fine, but will any of you that has pointed the finger apologise?? Probably not and some of you feel offended by certain people's comments, how do you think FDev would feel as well?? Food for thought. o7

Whenever people suggest that the majority of muppetry in-game is the result of "role-playing", something like this happens to remind you that some people are simply first-rate tossers. [sad]

Sure; however the developer decided this was valid choice, as it is supplying MA to counteract it. Muppetry or not, the developer has decided this is good sport. Whether the players do? Isn't a relevant question. Choice, it creates opportunity. Good and bad.

FD don't "hand of god" this stuff. People will do what they do. I wish the commander this is in the spirit of, all the best. However just hand-of-god reaction to something (even if it's frustrating) doesn't really solve anything. Two wrongs, etc etc.

Hi everyone,

In light of recent issues relating to the way a small collective of players have been approaching and targeting specific private groups and other community events such as charity livestreams, we wanted to reinforce an important part of the existing rules regarding in-game harassment that every player agrees to when creating their account.

We wanted to reiterate some examples regarding the rules of Player harassment. If a player has been blocked from a private group, or a group/individual has taken every step possible to remove a player from their gameplay, then attempting to circumvent this in any fashion is a serious offense and action will be taken accordingly. Attempting to re-establish contact with an individual who has blocked a player through secondary accounts or other methods of attempting to evade the block are against the rules. Action can and will be taken against both the accounts in question and the main accounts of players that we deem to be harassing players through this method.

In addition taking action such as seeking out and targeting specific players purely for the purpose of being disruptive, to causeoffence, or to upset players within the community can also be considered harassment. A perfect example of this is deliberately attempting to disrupt public livestreams such as the charity ones mentioned before. This includes, but is not limited to, the capturing of footage and releasing it publically in an attempt to create upset or gain notoriety through the actions listed above.

We have previously stated, and it remains true, that Frontierare not able to manage group specific rules. Players considered to be breaking these group rule sets as established by group moderators should be removed from those groups by said moderators. In addition, running a livestream in Open does invite the potential for players to approach and impact your gameplay and running a livestream in which you are declaring war on another group and they come and take action against you is reasonable and should be expected.

Ultimately it’s about context. The support team can and will review these kinds ofoffences and will be taking action against accounts that set their entire purpose on harassing players and groups in this way. They are currently investigating a number of incidents and will be dealing directly with any parties involved.

The Frontier Support team take the protection and safety of the community very seriously, they strive to ensure that the game remains fair and friendly. If you feel the need to report an incident, please do get in contact with support via our support site at https://support.frontier.co.uk - please include as much detail of the event as possible.

You can see a copy of the rules that everyone signs up to by creating an account, including harassment, here:
https://www.frontierstore.net/ed-eula/

Thanks for reading.

I'll repeat it a THOUSAND times:

This was NOT a legitimate in-character act of aggression. There's nothing legitimate about this.

This is an obvious case of harassment: a real person dying of cancer. A real person. There are no in-game excuses for this. No in-character reason for it. They did it to troll a dying man and the community; they did it for the giggles and for the real-life infamy, to hurt people on a personal level.

It doesn't matter that the mechanics exist in the game, what matters is the INTENT. They did it on purpose to harm human beings, not video game characters.

It's low. It's despicable. No excuses. The trolls must be banned, period.

Furthermore:

A CRYSTAL CLEAR case of harassment takes place and you do nothing to punish it: the UA bombing that took place has nothing to do with the video game's characters, story or assets. There's nothing to gain by it. There's no in-character excuse. There's no in-game justification for it. The players responsible for it did it for the real-life infamy and to purposefully harm the community and a man dying of cancer. A personal attack, and for the most frivolous reason imaginable.

No-one saw a very common way to impact a facility, from coming? Are you kidding me. UA bombing has existed for years. It's a high profile thing. This should have been highly predictable.

Some of comments aren't even related to what's happened, it's just people ranting at each other. Which in a sense it's expected.

People disagree. Frontier thought it would be great sport to have a way to disable facilities, and then created an antidote. I understand the frustration, but this is yelling at the wind.

Not fine. If Frontier just hand-of-god's any outcome then they're just making a mockery of the mechanics. That Frontier have very little ability to understand the impacts of their decisions is well known; but UA bombing has been a thing for a long time.

--

It's never ever acceptable to persecute people. However someone bright spark bombing the Dove Enigma has no reflection on the person it's in the spirit for. Nor should Frontier be expected to sort this out simply because it's inconvenient. Commanders have great potential to work together for a common goal; they seem to want to just moan instead.

Every time someone does something the game has allowed (and encouraged, no less) this is suddenly awful and the developer is bad for not intervening. No, it's not. It shouldn't have to. It's up to players to act, and react. It has become a very consistent outcome on the forums; something happens, players immediately protest and demand Frontier solve an in-game solvable thing and then go on to verbal the developer and present ultimatums.

--

Is there a current group effort to undo this, still? Who do I talk to about helping out?

This isn't FDevs fault and no one can swindle the conversation that way.

I guarantee that 100% of the staff at FDev want to see this guys tribute go through without a hitch and would do something to fix it.
There are players that would at the thought of FDev intervention of player actions. They're cornered by that stupid arguement.

The Megaship was set up by FDev in the first place, which is why we're having this discussion. Don't forget that when you play the blame game.

You can blame the twit that thought this prank was funny and leave it at that.

The venous bile presented as moral and claims righteous indication used as a platform by members of this community to justify and validate the dehumanization of anyone who isn't not 100% i support of their potion is a shameful disgrace, a mark time will never cleanse.
