My AspX is still my No.1 ship; awesome views, spacious, fairly fast, good supercruise manuverability and the 3rd best Jump range in the game :)

Whilst I'm still out where there are no more stars, I thought I should take the opportunity for a selfie.

The King of Rome, battered but much-loved:

I have tried many of the ships within Elite Dangerous and I just cant find fault with my beloved AspX "Talisman", it does everything I could ask for, when am not out in the black (I use my Anaconda for exploration as its up to 48ly jump range), for everything else I always dust off Talisman.... imho, the best ship in the game .. [up][yesnod]

Just wanted to show some respect to you all fellow ASP X Commanders, and the respect and admiration I feel for the ship you command and love...

I am a one ship only guy, and have been commanding my Cutter, "Anxious Warrior", since I managed to buy her, years ago. BUT, I own just one more ship, multi purpose build to make those things that, due to my Cutter combat build, I can't do with my main ship.

And... what could that other ship be?

It couldn't be another, the awesome ASP X.

For me, the best medium sized ship available to date. A perfect tool for any roll, the perfect buddy...

Great ship you have there commanders, my respect.

Take care of her and fly safe!!

I have been in this game for a little over a year and once I got into an AspX, it opened the game for me. It allowed me to get to and see all the new and strange things popping up in the black. People were just finding the alien artifacts and crashes. My Aspx got me there. I did something crazy and took a viper mk4 out to maia to see and trade some meta alloys because that's the only ship I had and was still fairly new to the game. Hindsight, I could have stripped a hauler and went. Lol. Anyway, I have two commanders, one on Xbox and one on PC. They both have and will always keep an Aspx stored in their hangers. I even sold my conda and bought a T10 just because it flies like the Aspx. That ship helped me really start enjoying this game.

Am loving my AspX, 'Thunder's Truck'. Initially had her fitted for trade, but have since refitted her for pax missions. Once I have the credits, have an exploration build lined up.

Ah the aspx what a ship after my first ship which was the viper mk 3 and a type 6 momentarily this ship was next. Even if it was apparently a temporary buy it opened my game explore the black do cg, mission. We have our ups and down but as of now i will never separate from my trusty DEEP HORIZON. Perhaps some commander hate her because of a strange image i myself get sometimes, that its not very sexy, weird shape flying box.,but its more than useful,so that strange love and hate.

Very similar here.
Originally got mine for a limited purpose (some mining to unlock an engineer), with the intention to sell it immediately after the job. She worked quite nicely at everything, and I eventually changed my mind. Since then, PROUD MARY has seen quite a bit of engineering as well as trading, mining, smuggling, exploration, long range hauling and passenger spins. For a multirole vessel, she is now more than decently armed, can keep herself up very nicely (including the ability to one-shot smaller opponents), and also does not mind an occasional round of bounty hunting.

Being a dedicated combat pilot, I will certainly never have similar affection for her as for my Federal Assault Beast (which is even more ugly [big grin]), but she has become a trusty friend and gained a permanent place in my garage.

Below you see a photo I shot at the destination of a 6400 ly passenger mission to some nebula. Quite a spectacular sight with its intense blue glow.

Btw, at this point my passenger promised me a bonus for getting her home without being scanned. Using one or two smuggler's tricks, I did - but the bonus remained a promise. Never trust a rich tourist! ;)

I've flown the Asp Explorer for the bulk of my career, and I own two of them. I've used it for exploration, mining, cargo hauling, combat...it's done everything I've asked of it, and more. I love the view, and I think I'm one of the rare people that likes the way it looks.

But...

I'll be honest, I hate the way it flies. It takes a couple seconds too long to stop, it skids around like a car on ice, and when landing on heavy g worlds I feel like the song Yackety Sax should be playing in the background. I grew into the Asp Explorer directly from the Cobra Mk III, so I thought it's flying characteristics were just a natural side effect of flying a bigger ship. Then I flew a Type-7 and realized just how much I was tolerating and didn't have to.

Don't get me wrong, the Asp Explorer is great as an exploration ship, and I have no need to replace it with a Diamondback or an Anaconda. It's just, ugh, irritating to fly now.

Hehe, I like this idea. You might also play this one :)

I don't mind the skidding at all, though. Just a matter of habit, and it can be used to your advantage in combat. The long stopping distance, well... it only gets in my way when going full throttle through the mail slot while smuggling. Even in big stations you hit the rear wall at quite some speed. But hey, that's what shields are for :)

I'm presently roaming around in my ASP gathering engineering materials. Following up signal sources in deep space, I was unexpectedly interdicted. Just a Cobra, so I saw no reason to avoid the fight. Seconds later, there was three of them

Ended with me cashing in an extra 200k in bounties. Seems the ASP is sometimes underestimated :)

Btw, how do you get this Inara signature?
