Kingdom Come Deliverance

Set in Czechia...but they all swear in Polish....or are certain choice expletives general across the regions?

And no...I'm not typing it [squeeeee]

Russian Cyrillic text has it as ... :)

The medival Bohemia was bigger than current Czechia, encompassing parts of Poland among other things. (AFAIK)

Anyone here had much success spiking food pots with sleeping potions/poisons?

Well, i suck at swordplay so i will definitely do that to take care of the two at bandits that hunt Ginger. I cannot fight two of them and the one with the axe hurts as hell and the other one is just slicing me to bits with his sword.

Czech, Polish and Russian are somewhat similar (although Russian is written in Cyrylica). A lot of words sound the same or very similar when pronounced. (Although some are quite the opposite, i.e. Polish word for "stale bread" means "fresh bread" in Czech :) ).

P.S. I removed the swearwords from your post - it's against the forum rules, sorry ;)

BTW after playing for a bit yesterday I installed 3 mods: Minimal HUD, Save anywhere and skip intro videos. Very useful!

Knock 'em out in their sleep. Or knock one out and kill the other. Many reloads were done and it was glitchy as hell for me. Sometimes knocked out guys wouldn't register and I couldn't interact with them and ye, fighting them was tough as nails for me too. Or use horse archery. Or poisoned arrow. And that pot spicing must be good for something, no?

I've heard save anywhere can be game breaking, apparently there's a 300 upper limit on saves. The "fix" is to delete loads of them.

Don't yet have the game though so internet accuracy.

I've reached the max number of saves,it just forces me to overwrite one, doesn't break anything

Cheers for that, I wasn't aware. I tend to overwrite 1 save file anyway for my games. I don't do save scamming, so no need for multiple saves for me :)

What has been discovered in general...and happened to me too...was that running loads of save files makes the game unpredictable. Some quests disappear, some characters required for training will no longer be responsive plus a few other inconsistencies. Even going back to an earlier save file doesn't fix some of the weird errors.

I deleted all and started again but tend to delete older saves as I progress since the save anywhere option doesn't give the option to overwrite saves until the save limit is reached... so far, I haven't had any of the weird issues with this rerun and everything is where it's supposed to be....

One thing I noticed about the combat is that, with heavily armoured opponents, its not always obvious that your hits are getting through. In the middle of a protracted fight, with a bandit leader for instance, you would be forgiven for thinking that you are doing really badly then one strike will drop him. In a few cases I have had NPCs run away and I noticed that while chasing them you have an option to tackle them. I thought it would just knock them down but in my case it was a backstab-like killing move.

Whenever I used that it was a knockdown always. Definitely no guaranteed kill move. They struggle up and keep legging it. Had quite a couple of chases.

It's possible they were already badly hurt and the tackle finished them off. A bit like the enemies that are downed and you have the option to mercy kill them. You don't have to do that and they bleed out if you leave them.

I've had that happen to me before. Never died from the fall fortunately.

Has anyone run over a hare yet? I've done it on foot too. I thought I had killed one as I sprinted towards it and knocked it over and it slid down a hill. I thought I would go and get some easy meat but when I approached it got up again and scampered off.

On a related note, after riding back to town carrying over 400 red deer meat, I found that at certain encumberance levels you cannot even lift your little feet over the threshold of a door to get inside. You can climb the steps but the actual door frame is a barrier. This was both doors into the weapon shop in Rattay. I had to drop the meat, walk over the threshold and then pick it up again while inside just so I could sell some weapons.

Love this game. The Henry character is just great. Really dry humour that's made me properly laugh at times. So many little things that all add up to much greater than the sum of their parts.

Yeah, I really like how the characters feel... real. Not like something some screenwriter came up with (like latest Bioware games, for example) but like someone who actually lives there.
