SHIP JUMP RANGES

I think that all FSD ranges should be doubled, reason is in most ships when armed jump range drops to 20ly, and if exploring in an ASP would be able to get 80ly. I spent 2 of my nights jumping to travel the 5000ly for engineer unlock, I work in the daytime, I would explore more if it wasn't so time consuming, I'm not asking for instant travel just a bit less time consuming. [alien]

If you are actually out exploring you should be jumping less LY. Find more undiscovered systems and planets that way. My first long distance exploration run I did (12,000LY Round Trip) in my ASP X that only was jumping 40 LY I lowered it to get more systems to scan. I came back with over 50 first discovered with 3 ELW's.

My Exploraconda is armed and still jumps 62LY. You need to downsize a lot of the modules and then engineer them to get really good results.

They've already made the galaxy ridiculously small

It's now almost impossible to find an unexplored pristine region

Not to mention that it's faster to get Elite in "exploration" just doing passenger missions

Players have only scanned and logged maybe 1% of the galaxy. Also PAX missions go towards trade ranks. Exploration rank is still done by doing out and scanning systems and planets and turning it in. Dont go the usually routes and try to find unexplored systems and planets.

Go towards the outer rim.

Nay, brother. We've been spoiled far too long as it is with jump ranges. The problem with exploration is that there's very little to do, not that it takes too long. If there was a more compelling reason to be out there it would peak my interest. As it is it's an endurance test with the hope of some nice screenshots.
One of the good things is the club of exclusivity where you can say you've flown out that far, before FSD boosts, before engineering, in a Sidewinder. The more they trivialize that the less value exploration has and increasing the jump ranges to make the galaxy more accessible is the opposite of what wilderness should be.

If we view each Nebulas they tend to be explored more because it easier. Each one has a station. So GJ51 is right.

Personally, I think you're coming at this from the wrong angle. Your frustration seems to be based on the 5kly requirement to unlock the engineer. Rather than further trivialise the scale of the galaxy for everyone, would it not be better to change the engineer unlock requirement?
I feel your pain, combat for me is boring and repetitive (and not helped by me being rubbish at it) so trying to unlock Lori is a nightmare that continues to elude me.

Just to point it out, sight-seeing passenger missions go towards one's Exploration rank. You could do nothing but Ceos to Sirius Atmospherics and make Elite as an Explorer.

Transporting passengers does indeed go towards Trade rank, though.

TY for the info on the Transportation passangers mission go towards trade rank.

I'd like to go to Colonia and a few other places, trouble is when you get there, you would be isolated, with no access to engineers etc, and it would take hours of jumping.

Definitely needs more to happen/do when exploring. [yesnod]

Doubled ...?

I quadruple my range with neuron stars. 250 ly jumps

You ought to do the same.

Those 5000 ly can be raced down in an hour.

Let's just have a button to instantly teleport wherever, none of that "space is big" rubbish.

And with sarcasm dialled way back, I'd welcome if at least engineering effects on FSD range were reduced by half.

I looked for Neutron stars, but they are hard to see on the map. It's something to work on tho. :)

They are abundant in layers above and below the galactic plane.

You don't have to spot them there, just tick the respective route plotting option.

The anaconda's jump range is magical. Merlin cast a spell on it. Just like he did on the Python to give it a tardis cargo bay. He then cast a spell on the cutter giving it the most DPS of all the ships in the game. I fully expect the orca to get a buff soon. Obviously it needs five times the range, five times the weapon capability and it really needs another 400 tonnes of cargo space too.
Wait...I was thinking of the type 7 there. My bad.
Trust me, by next patch the type 10 will be the most powerful ship in the game with the highest jump range and the most cargo space and it will be the most manoeuvrable and agile ship in the game...ah...sorry...my bad...already is.
What am I thinking. Must sell my corvette and buy the type ten mega super ship. Amazing what a spoiler can do to the old cow type 9. Frontier should add a spoiler to the corvette too.

i would like to one-jump 500ly and wait 2 hours for fsd recharge rather then jump 50 times like now.

Dozens jumps are really annoying and dont know why people like spending their time to jump 50 times with same animation and doing same thing over and over only to take ship from A to B.

You can add 50~% to your range with engineering.

Then boost from neutron stars and white dwarfs.

A flat out buff for all ships is just silly. My Anaconda can do 58ly, my DBX can do 58ly. I can get across the bubble in no time.

My Corvette on the other hand... Urgh. It waits for combat to come to it. Lol
