Indeed, that's exactly what I plan to do, go round and collect it myself - as in UK we don't have access to automatic weapons, I will probably exact my revenge on them with merciless irony instead of bullets...

Or a blunt weapon.

And that's a joke, for any Internet police who might be reading this:eek:

So the Rhino arrived this morning and I studiously mapped all of the 600 million buttons to it in prep for Fantasticon! Its a beast of a HOTAS but I miss my old logitech 3D pro ! :p

Have to learn to fly all over again !

OK Finally got it going, not sure how, after having 2 images.

Good news

Framerate is much higher than DK1 at 1080p (about double) can just about get 75 fps in the dock with everything on high but shadows (Med)

Tracking is great, love the 6DOF, makes it so much more natural. Text is so much more readable.

Worries

Getting o lot of chromatic aberration (is that the term? So halos on some text and hud elements. The worse thing though is a lot of smearing on the black areas of space. Looking through the Cobra front windscreen the bottom area is black and the top/sides are smeary grey. It looks like it corresponds to where the scratches/marks are when using a normal screen but they are just big smeary grey areas. Same effect in Hyperspace.

Anyone else see this?

It just says "A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."

It seems the positional tracking bug I had was because of Aero! Somehow I had turned it on again... So glad to get it working again!:D:D To bad the no one has the Saitek Rhino in stock until September :(

Anyone having the colour bleed issues I menyioned in my last post. The fix above worked a treat. Thanks alpharesearch

I think it's a result of the hack. There is chromatic aberration compensation in the new SDK, but you have to kill it before you fire up ED. I'd be surprised if the per-user IPD is being used either.

try the Quake 2 DK2 build and in there it has a bunch of options for turning on and off all the fancy 0.4 SDK settings. If you turn off the CA compensation, you get a view not unlike you get inside ED.

UPS deliver up to 7:30pm and I've seen some people receive theirs on Saturday.
Someone posted that they received theirs 30 mins after the shipping email too.

I ain't giving up hope till I see a delivery date of Monday ;)

EDIT: just got delivery date of Monday. Doh!

What is the sort of relationship between FPS with/without DK2? e.g. if I'm getting about 80FPS outside of the DK2, should I get 80FPS using the DK2 or does it take a sizeable performance hit when rendering in 3D?

At the moment, everything is nice and smooth when moving the ship with/without the DK2, but head tracking is pretty jerky when using the DK2.

I'm trying to work if I may need a GFX card upgrade to get the head tracking smooth - I've currently got a Radeon 7850 with 2GB RAM.
