New crime and punishment system sucks.

According to Wikipedia, Wyatt Earp's [...] reputation is that of the Old West's "toughest and deadliest gunman of his day."
Does that sound like someone who would pick on the weaker subset of wanted cmdrs or be about extracting salt?

Joking aside, if I see a wanted human player I’m going to melt their faces off then smear their guts all over the inside of their ship. I don’t care if it’s for a 200cr bounty, you fly around with a target on your back I’m sure as heck gonna bring you to justice.

I don't think the game has a PvP/PvE flag.

So presumably Jason/Vin mean PvErs and PvPers.

I'm not sure if this new patch is a stroke of genius or what, but the idea that PvPers will soon be policing themselves is awesome. :)

Maybe it could be looked at as the honourable PvPers policing the ganking PvPers?

ATR 2.0?

Bitstorm is correct - All wanted players are fair game, and the bigger the bounty, the better.

Of course, the deluge of whinge from the 200 Cr bounty crowd has drawn my ire and attention since release. I haven't been silent about that, even here on the forums, and I don't think it's particularly shocking for a couple of friends to trash-talk about it out of game.

(And frankly, revisiting that conversation via massively-oversized, red-underlined screenshot made me lol, literally. You have to admit, that was one hell of funny exchange :D )

That's the spirit! ;)

Ohmagerd Vin, we better watch out or we're going to be on Cobra Kai's dreaded KoS list!

You need to dig a little deeper into Wyatt Earp's history then wickipedia my friend. Earp was a bulldozer of the first order, a very grim, deadly man who spent plenty of time on the wrong side of the law before he ended up in tombstone and decided to go legit. At the time, many people reviled him.

And the OK Corral was the subject of much controversy. As I understand it from some sources, it was Earp and his boys committing flat-out murder.

"Controversial" is exactly how Earp and his brothers were at the time, only given the fine gloss of movie glamour in modern history. Personally, I look at the situation we have under discussion, from both a moral and technical point of view, to be almost exactly along the lines of the movie you've been posting clips of Unforgiven. "Deserve's got nothing to do with it."

What is amusing about this is that while Lekeno (and some others) think they're shaming us, I personally think that a) it's the first time fdev has provided some legit PvP gameplay to the game and b) it's funnier than all hell.

Yeah, I'm totally not ashamed. Not in the slightest.

So I left my game running in the background for 3.5 hours with my hot ship sitting in the dock at an anarchy system. My notoriety still reads as 1. Do you you have to be actively flying your tub of shame to get your notoriety to drop? I've logged in and out after my idle time and no change.

I guess I could leave the station and go back in?

I would know the answer to that...but I'm never bad.
