Thanks for the update - especially for the PS4 gyro bug, damn that was annoying (and sometimes quite painful!) - theres one bug and I dont know if its been mentioned on the PS4 and I dont know if it is on the other systems, but sometimes, like 15% of time when taking off from a planet, my System's menus and Navigation menus dont allow me to move around to select anything, which is real annoying as it means I cant go planning a jump and have to log out and back in again - just a minor thing but its been there for 6 or 7 months now :)

Put C&P back to the player and not the ship - it's not like you go out get caught speeding in 1 car get points/fine - go home, swap the car out and hey presto, clean license now is it?

Ship based crime is awseome.

Don't change it.

Shame that the ship is still guilty and not the pilot. It's like shoot your husband, then hand the gun in to the police (get the reward) and the gun gets nicked.

Ship-based crime is awesome.

Don't change it.

Personally, I think it should be both.

I think that cops should respond to "sightings" of a criminal ship in a system and then, if you get scanned, the crimes of that ship are applied to the player as well.
Equally, a criminal player should be able to fly a clean ship without attracting much attention but then, if they get scanned, that ship becomes "hot" too.

That way, players could lead a "double-life" as a part-time criminal but there'd always be the risk of getting "caught in the act", at which point the poop would really hit the fan in a big way.

It's my understanding that affixing "hotness" to a module was to allow the player to store said modules as a means of making his ship usable until the player can "clean" the modules later. By locking outfitting to ships with hot modules, you've now done away with this intended feature and essentially made the ship itself "hot" until cleaned. If you're basically doing away with that intended feature, why not go the extra step and just make crime and punishment tied to our ships themselves instead of the modules? It's what is now done in practice anyway and makes more sense on 2 levels: 1) It simplifies and streamlines the game play and, 2) it also makes it more realistic in terms of role play - in real life, a police All Points Bulletin is issued for a driver and/or his car, not his engine block or tires.

As 'clear and present' criminal activity ships being marked for crime actually makes awfully lot of sense. There are quirks, but overall idea is solid. Yes, it might feel a huge depart from regular approach how it is done in games, but as long as it sticks...it's good.

What's needed however is some sort of criminality rep, some sort of infamy. Not notoriety as currently presented, but something with longer tail.

That indeed is a good idea. The ship you commited a crime is a kind of evidence.

It is both currently. You get the notoriety and your ship gets the bounty. If you do anything bad in a clean ship while having notoriety you get a much larger bounty than usual.

The comms panel bug seemed to be triggered by presence of another CMDR in your instance. Then, when you left that instance, it became bugged and completely unusable for anything; mission updates, chat, contact history, etc. So I don't think it was exclusive to Open, but obviously more likely there. It would be nice if someone could confirm if it was addressed and/or fixed.

Fully agree.

I love the C&P system and all its changes but it should absolutely have no impact on anarchy systems...that's the whole point of them.

And that notable exception has been the cornerstone of this entire C&P reconstruction since day one!

I personally have no dog in this fight being a Solo and PG focused player these days, but I have been following this development the entire time, and am very surprised to see this now getting swept aside as though it was never the focus it has been leading up to today.

:S

[wacko]

Dear FDev, thanks for listening to the whining. This update is a joke. I echo the others about the complaint of wanted ships and outfitting. As well as your nonsense in relation to PP bounties. Instead of hot fixing them so they can be paid off instead of making your ship appear hot, let’s just fix it right! These are there for other PP players to collect, they shouldn’t have an impact on anything else and I shouldn’t be able to pay them off. My UM tactics should have some consequences and I should carry them forever until someone claims them or that ship is sold off.

I’m guessing you won’t care about this whining tho cuz I’m a criminal and not white knighting.

This Guys are right, I'm one of the Do Good'ers and i'm full of fines on my ships just because i'm flying fast enough on the mail slot, most of my ships are looked because i forgot to pay the fines !!!, and now i have to go to a low security system just to release the fines ????

Even Good Guys commit crimes against criminal or just antagonistic factions, let us live with the continuous stalking of Bounty Hunters, but not this !!!!

Why shouldn't criminals be able to outfit in anarchy systems at least? Bounties are local. I accept being locked out of the stations in a jurisdiction where I commit crimes, but losing all outfitting everywhere makes no sense without resorting to the logic of people who just want the system to screw over people they dislike.

Nah the new c&p is awesome, just like real life you murder some one say in florida well that makes you a wanted criminal, you move and head to say georgia, ah ok great i'm in a new state so im scott free, nah all you cry babys out there complaining about the crime and punishment are like saying we wanna be criminals but not face no repercussions and everything else that goes with it, i understand a opps i hit a non wanted player or npc by mistake yeh kinda sucks but actually committing crimes just like in real life always has repercussions, so the good old saying goes cant do the time dont do the crime.
