This game just isn't worth playing at the moment

How many times have I told people you don't get anywhere by having a hissy fit on the forums. The best way is to hold your breath until your face turns blue. Stamping feet may or may not help. This addition has not yet been fully validated.

If players are so lazy they need instant-gratification by having their mom buy them an Asp then they need to unplug the computer and stop gaming altogether.

EVERY game in existence has you start out from an easy starting point.

You start slow and then things start to go faster and faster, just like Tetris, or Pong, or Donkey Kong.
You start out weak and then grow stronger as you face more and more difficult enemies, just like RPGs, MMO's.
You start out small and then grow bigger as you obtain more wealth and skill, just like World of Tanks, Elite, EVE Online.

If you don't like this concept then you don't like gaming, pure and simple.

There are plenty ways to earn cash in the game, easiest of all is to take your Sidewinder, fly to a High-RES and then wait for police to almost destroy a ship then you tap it a few times with your pulse laser. Boom goes the ship, cha-ching goes your bank account and you got +200,000Cr paid out just from tapping an Anaconda a few times just before it blew up.

If you need your mom to buy you an Asp for real cash then you simply not a gamer, so what are you doing playing games?

but then this is exactly why a cash for credits shop is a good thing imo... if players insist on missing the early game, they can, AND it gives money to the devs to make mroe stuff for the game.

OTOH it means that those who enjoy the slower paced progression get to keep on enjoying that rate of progression rather than add in nuts credit inflation to appease those who want it all in super fast time. which imo is what we have now.

things of so bad now there is no early game progression imo, 1 play session if you even remotely on the ball will get you into a medium ship....... negating all the cheap ships as something to dip into for fun only but with no real need for them in the game. This i think is sad. many players will never fly in ships like the eagle now when you can get a vulture in a few hrs

Apparently when I was a toddler I used to bang my head on the floor in frustration. Used to scare my mother silly, probably why I did it.

Nothingn wrong with me now of course...

It gives them more incentive to make the game more grindy.

Terrific.

That'd be a lot easier if the Galmap didn't cause the game to crash, thus forcing me to stumble blindly from one system to another, one jump at a time.

That assertion would have some shred of credibility if it wasn't in a thread where at least half of the posters agree with the OP.

Have you tried validating your files through the launcher? Well if you're on PC. I was having crashes when entering hangars a while ago and validating the files fixed it right up.

And people will fly in Eagles more if their moms can buy them multiple amounts of "10 million credits" from the store and literally enable them to purchase an A-rated Anaconda on day 1 of playing?

Whenever I get the time to play I really enjoy the game. CQC games have even been pretty easy to come by recently. Fdev definitely screwed the pooch with some of their recent ideas (ahem, no outfitting for hot ships??), but I'm pretty happy with where the game's going right now. And I absolutely LOVE the new planet colors! Excited for the q4 update

I am perhaps not explaining myself well here so please cut me some slack... but the point is, the core game balance is not altered for those who WANT the full experience.

if all johnny rich parents whant to do is tool around in a conda, and he / his parents are happy to pay 50 quid to do so then, well, at least that money is going to the devs who make the game.

better that than alter the entire balance of the game imo to accomadate those who want fast access to big ships, at the expense of those who see that as something to work towards over the entire life of the game.

exactly.. .which is why i admitted it does take a certain amount of faith in FD to NOT go that route...

but what is grindy and what is long term game play is subjective which makes it hard to answer... me.... I would say the only obnoxious grind in the game right now is the guardian tech broker, because solve a puzzle once.. .great.. but redo it 25x? not great.

but that is just imo.

Yeh, right, at 15e per 10m (the example you so irately attacked), that would cost...(wait....)

...1.2 BILLION euros.

I wish I had such a mom. :( My mom made me buy my own car and pay rent when I started working.

FDev barely own their own game anymore so no, given the corporate stooges that run it now being able to "fast track" the game with money is always the worst idea ever, period.

If the game is by admission as bad as you say it is then the game needs to be improved, not fast tracked.

Additional - we shouldbn't be supporting predatory gaming techniques either which is a disgusting turn by the gaming industry (ala EA) who prey on vulnerable people.

dunno, missions and their payouts were never anything but a curiosity for me. even if they were utterly broken it wouldn't affect my gameplay much. i made my cash mostly through bonuty hunting. but then you have trading and exploring (which is very lucrative now, i'm told). you guys don't really need no stinking missions. get a grip, be your own boss.

if play your way is reduced to do what you're told by some jerk at a station then, sorry, your way sucks.

besides, the game has real, fundamental problems. stop with the money nonsense already! :D

Can’t believe you’re actively preventing people from winging up and making 50 million or so an hour each doing legitimate cargo collection missions. You need to roll back the last patch badly.

Wut?

15 per 10,000,000 = 150 per 100,000,000 = 1500 per 1,000,000,000

You don't really need more than 1,000,000,000Cr to fully A-fit an Anaconda.

Not sure how you did your math...

Granted, 1500 euro is still a lot of money :p

Either way, my point was that once you allow people to buy credits for real money then people will never be using the small ships again. For 10 million you can skip half the ships in the game.

this would ruin it totally. i also cant think of a game where this made the game a succes.

i can only think of games where the fun decreased when they had such a system..

I hate being that guy, but in this case I will be that guy. If people cry that they cant experience the full game unless they have one of the big three within a couple of hours/week of playing. This isnt the game for you. Go play something else. One of the main reasons I bought this game is because I had to make an effort to make money to buy better ships and outfit them. I really hate games that gives you all end game stuff/top tier items within a couple of hours playing it.

Erm, how about the biggest game of all time, grand theft auto 5, also coincidentally, the closest analog to Elite of any other game. :)

As above. I'm gonna keep my 20 quid I was going to spend on paint and go back to TF2 for a while.

There are NO skimmer missions I can find anywhere. Planetary scans are a joke with getting a bounty and not being able to clear it without a 100ly trip. Passenger missions are beyond a joke in every way, I'm not going 2000ly AND BACK for 2.55 mil, and bulk passengers now want business class cabins which can't fit them all. Wing delivery missions (I play by myself) pay a pittance, I could make more with just selling the damn things in the market. Massacre missions that pay 2.8 mil for 90 ships?!? What are you smoking? Wanna kill Thargoids? Good luck getting 10000 bounty and paying 3 times as much in repairs. IF you live.

Yes, I want a gold rush. Money. Moolah. Not to stash under my mattress but to buy in game, ie. - to play the way I want to. You know, as it was advertised? At the moment there's no chance of that, so bye for now.

Well you know, i think it will be a nice break while they get some of this stuff figured out. Got some movies to catch up on, might even blow the dust of x3.

LOL i was playing that yesterday. buying cash ingame didnt add anything to the succes of that game.

GTA is like the new iphone for apple geeks, they will buy it anyway.
the ability to buy money in GTA, justified it for rockstar to increase the grind to insane levels... THAT IS NOT AN SUCCES!
