Updated Permit List

It could be that this is where Raxxla is. Probably not, but with that message upon trying to jump there? Hmmm. I've long suspected Raxxla is in a permit locked system and I've heard nothing from FD saying it isn't (or is for that matter); They don't say anything except "Well it's in the Mliky Way, but I can't tell you where it is. It's a journey that everyone has to travel for themselves." Quote from Michael Brooks according to the Elite Dangerous Wiki.

The Reddit post mentions that there were a couple of other similar systems, although their locations have been withheld (as they were apparently found by data mining/reverse engineering the game data - which is technically against the ToS of the game, etc etc). I'm not so sure it's an official leak anymore.

By the way, ARG? Haven't heard that Acronym before and therefore have no idea what it means.

Alternate reality game.

In this context I was referring to the codes and pictures that were spread by FDev to lead people to various in-game locations, a lot of which had to happen outside of the game itself. I guess that's not technically an ARG but it's close.

If you're interested in seeing one in action, there's one currently happening for the new Cloverfield movie: http://cloverfield.wikia.com/wiki/Cloverfield_Alternate_Reality_game

Well, don't try data mining for Raxxla; unless you just want to waste your time. Oh, I think it's in there. But not in a form that can be read by humans. I know what the TOS says, but Frontier is not going to put it in a form so people can find it. From what I understand, they consider this to be above Top Secret. I'm fairly sure they put the reference to the barnacles (barnicles) in there in human readable form because they wanted it found. 400 billion stars and only 19.4 billion bytes of information to make up the game. Yeah, anything they want kept secret can be coded so humans can't read it.

Terra Mater is now under control of a player faction, Elite Division.

If what happened a while back in Phekda is any indication, there's a good chance that the permit for Terra Mater may break soon.

If there is anyone interested in getting a Terra Mater permit, while it's still working. According to EDDB, the Brotherhood are at war in Hecate, though they are well behind. Fighting in a CZ is by far the quickest way to become allied with a faction without a station. So now is the perfect time to go get the permit.

I completed mine just after 3.0 dropped doing missions in Hecate. With the current rep gains mission reward choices it took only an hour or so to get Friendly & Allied ranks just taking whatever missions were on offer. Not sure if they were in War at the time, but still good time to get the permit.

So once again I find myself in the same predicament. I grind the rep to another faction to try and get the permit. All along the process every station I go has the permit, locked of course as wasn't allied yet. Now that I am, ta-da, no one has the stupid permit anymore regardless of board jumping or trying different stations. This time it's good old Isinor. Why why why does this always happen? I swear FDev did this on purpose just to mess with us...

It's a pain when that happens, but there is one little gotcha you may or may not be hitting: the permits will only be given out in systems within 15ly of the permit locked system, so if you're waiting on boards at systems further out this might be why you're not getting the mission to appear.

Good luck, hope it pops up soon either way.

It's the system next door that had all the permits while I was doing the rep, now the same stations that I was seeing all the permits at no longer have them. It's just bad luck, eventually they'll pop up, but always seems funny this happens quite a bit when you finally have the rep to get them, they stop offering them...

How does that work? Is just handing in combat bonds enough? I was down there not long ago, and there were a lot of wing massacre missions for mucho rep+, but I have no particular desire to spend days killing a couple hundred NPCs.

Yep. Combat bonds are a very quick way of becoming allied with a faction. Especially one without a station.
However, I haven't tried the new Rep+++++ mission options. These may well be easier.

I think this permit is already broken. I went to Hecate on the above recommendation. So far I've been waiting far, far longer for the permit to show up than it took me to get allied status.

I am suddenly reminded why I gave up chasing these some time ago.

Seems many permits right now seem to not be spawning. Many have said Alioth isn't working and I gave up trying to get my Isinor permit as it no longer spawns in 3.0.3 that I can see (it was there in stations before the patch though)...
