Armchair software development is a piece of cake.
Oh dammit!!! Have I just forgotten the BEST GAME EVER MADE??? Shame on me.![]()
That's easy enough: Star Citizen.
I haven't seen any demands for a perfect title, just players who care enough about Elite: Dangerous to speak up about what bothers them. Well, that and more than a little projection in the case of ascribing motives and behaviors to people they know little about.
Many players care so much about the game and so deeply fear it dying on the vine or being butchered into something they despise that their fears tend to be expressed strongly and perhaps not as rationally as they would if they were not so invested in its success.
It can be a bit much sometimes, but it's reassuring to know so many people care so much about this wonderful -- though far from perfect -- game.
As for a sow that can lay eggs, give milk and produce wool, I'm afraid such technology has yet to make its debut in English-speaking countries.
Of course, now that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, I'm sure researchers are already hard at work to make it a reality.
Oh...THAT title...that perfectly developed *cough* not yet *cough* released game since 5 years. The Game where you can finally get a proper login after ONLY 4 tries and get mindblowing 6 FPS (if you are lucky). That game where MILLIONS of dollars were sunk and still is in alpha? Okay...
To the "sow"-topic: I assume, that they never won't be satisfied even if they get all THEY want and NOW. Then thewre will be, again, complaints about what's next to come. And then again the cat's hunting it's own tail again.
"David Doesn't Care"
Lyrics
David!
David wasn't there
David!
David wasn't there,
To take me to the fair,
To cange my underwear,
It seems he doesn't caaaarrrrreeee!!!
David wasn't there
David!
David wasn't there,
To change my underwear,
It seems he doesn't care!
David wasn't there!
(When I was first baptized,
When I was critizised,
When I was ostercised,
When I was jazzercised,
Steak and Kidney Pies,
One hour martinized,
When I was Circumcised!...
David wasn'there)
To take me to the fair,
To change my underwear,
David wasn't there!

If you got a David issue,
Here's a David tissue!
D to the A to the VID!
D to the A to the VID!
They say it's just a fad,
But I got a dead beat Dev!
D to the A to the VID!
D to the A to the VID!
I sit in my room and cry,
And ask my self, the reason why!
D to the A to the VID!
D to the A to the VID!
David!
....
David!
....
David!
....
D A VID!
It's time to sell Elite: Dangerous to someone who can properly develop it.
I am quite excited for the Q4 exploration buff (and to some extent, mining too), but I'm trying to not set my hopes too high for Q4.Last Hope
I'm hoping Q4 of this year shows FD turning a new leaf with ED. I'm hoping to see really interesting deep mechanics. For example with mining we get some nice involved mechanics for mining itself, backed up with actual stateful resource hot spots (see "Improve Mining" in my sig) to give mining some worth and also integrate exploration gameplay, and even with Fleet Carriers involved in the mechanics potentially even to bind in trading.
This would probably be a good time to point out that on extremely rare occasions I can sometimes be ever-so-slightly facetious.
Now who's projecting?![]()
I interviewed Ed and Sandro at PAX last year and they both say that David Braden not only has his hand on the tiller, but sits right next to Sandro. Those are the facts, the rest of this thread is speculation bordering on libel. Not developing the game they way you want or not interacting with the community directly does not equal ZOMG BRABEN QUIT. His company is now successful enough that he can pay people to interact with us and get on with the business of running a multi million dollar corporation.
Also, here’s the thing where I interviewed Ed Lewis last year. Topic in question begins at 3:45. Enough of OP’s nonsense.

And do you believe all other PR too?
Sits right next to him...
It’s also being delevoped at a glacial pace - perhaps now that it’s a FD store cashcow.
No sense rushing to make the game when loads of players are already buying store items.
Got other games to concentrate on.
That's the way I'm beginning to feel as well... I'm especially frustrated with Frontier's glacial pace at fixing bugs, most of which were not in the game when I bought it but were introduced later on. Games should not get worse over time, they should get better.
It's very easy to wax-lyrical about Braben's involvement and intent.
Personally, I'll return the next time there's some more meat on the plate and hope i can tuck in to it this time around...
He's selling ED to Disney
Am I the only one completely OK with having a Pluto dog decal?
I am quite excited for the Q4 exploration buff (and to some extent, mining too), but I'm trying to not set my hopes too high for Q4.
I have a bad feeling that Squadrons will be the headliner feature, will be a broken mess, will take several patches to get it working in any reasonable capacity, and the exploration and mining 'buffs' will be overshadowed by Squadrons and become victims of neglect.
Would love to be proven wrong though.
