THARGOID ATTACK IN 32 c PISCIUM

three fiddy per Medusa or any other 'goid.
I don't worry about the 'goid attacks anymore. Not much one can do to stop them or prevent them from attacking a new system. It's called scripted.
Not true, some attacks have already been stopped! :)

(If someone could pipe up with the system names? As I can't remember them!).

If the attack is ongoing in 32 c Piscium, I'll see if I can join in. Is it?

While I can agree that so far Thargoids have been on a very slow boil, that does not mean it will stay that way, folks need to adjust their perspective and think longer term.

If you stand back and follow their progress its clear to see things are accelerating. At some point in the not too distant future, I fully expect to see players being interdicted by goids, with more random attacks in the bubble; once folks start to see their chosen home systems under attack they will start to pay more attention.

All the warning signs are there, however, folks need to prepare; you can't just dump a threat like the Thargoids into players laps out of the blue. With this communities track record for responding to increased npc threat the developers have no choice. Frontier have to give folks time to unlock AX weapons, guardian tech, and refine their builds to withstand such interdiction's. Anything less would result in the typical torrent of salt and forum whine.

I wholeheartedly agree! Why aren't the 'goids running around like normal NPCs? Because n00bs like me would be hopelessly outclassed in every encounter and the game would become punishing! At least having them as USSs means I can choose to not interact with them (for now, at least) while I'm going about my daily business. I also expect this situation to change a little as things become more heated and people get used to the Thargoids' presence. Like in the original game, I expect they'll become a standard threat that everyone has to deal with.

Sadly, I can't get in-game until maybe 11am ST by which time I assume the invasion will have happened or it won't. Not sure my little Cobra would be able to do much, either.

It's Thargoid Thursday and time to find out if the station was attacked or not ...waiting for the the servers to come back up to find out. I think your too late to help.

Yup - too late - both starports attacked this week

This is why I find it all a bit silly. Server goes down starports are fine, server comes up starports are ablaze. I remember some epic fights around the stations in Jumpgate, and that was 18 years ago, ok the game was a lot smaller and the stations diddnt take damage but the fights were cool.

I understand the thing is to fight them before the sever tick and hope its enough but then it all feels a bit false to do all that and then find it was all for nothing without seeing the attack on the stations themselves but it was jsut a dev flipping a swtich and now two stations are on fire.

Not sure if they are on fire mind you, just going on the bit that have been attacked.

Could you come back?

I cut my exploration trip short I came back and am having at those dirty Thargoids in my hastily adapted chieftain which now sports AX multicannons and woefully inadequate shielding.

Chalk up some scouts to the Stigster.

Would this mean I'd need to collect blueprints and engineer some anti thargoid weapons? Or can I stick to my 1E pulse?

Meanwhile on Galnet...

...nothing happened.

Yup, nothing at all. Well, apart from this morning, when it was reported:

(* next you can complain about the galmap not updating - and I'll have to agree with that :) )

I stumbled across some Thargoid scouts attacking a Cobra out towards the California sector last night, my PA's and Rails did the job. Doubt it would work well on the larger Thargoid ships.

I'm already over there, and have been killing what I can.

last night there saw several level 8 none human signal sources aka nhss

a few level 6 and 5, and tonnes of level 4s

let's kick their backsides

so you can diminish there numbers? So I mean there's a limited number of TG's in the system, say 1000 and you can affect that number? Or is it infinite spawns and then FDev decide if enough have been killed and adjust things accordingly.
