Disappointment

And now the forums have finally turned into reddit honestly I think the op is being way to critical of the game. Yes there are features that aren't in the game but it is not the end of the world. This game was NEVER ment fo have the levels of detail for any customization that other games do, but how often can you can you get a game based off one of the best franchises ever made? I personally think the op may need to take a break and focus on something non game related to try to clear their mind.

Re read the OP. You appear to have completely misunderstood everything about it.

To the OP:
I'm not going to directly answer the points you are disappointed with, because those aren't unreasonable things to request.
I just have 2 questions for you.
What if you are playing the game and you are having fun, don't you think those few things will become trivial?
Or better yet, is it possible that you can overcome your disappointment?
Also it seems to me from reading Bo's post that some of the things you ask might eventually be added to the game in the future.

I hope I, you and everyone has fun with this game. If I'm enjoying the game, those will indeed become trivialised. I still may want them but If I'm enjoying the game then I guess it's not the end of the world.

The entire point of the post was about how silly I found some of the design choices. However, that has absolutely no bearing on how fun the game is/will be.

Perhaps longevity is the main worry with the lack of customization. But that's a future us problem haha.

I can understand that but also from Frontier's point of view they had to make hard choices, maybe some even instructed by Universal, other choices by lack of time and there's also the consoles.
We have no clue what and why some of the choices are what they are today.

These are gameplay choices that are very much implementable. I tried to limit my criticism at things that I felt were reasonable. That's all I or anyone can do.

Can I ask you a question.

What's the utility in NOT expressing any concerns about gameplay mechanics/choices? I think it's fair to assume that some suggestions have already been taken on board. If people hadn't expressed their wishes/reservations for the game, it may have turned out very differently.

I did read it and have read every reply. It sounds like every post on Reddit complaining about every little detail in the game not in it. Frontier made this game the way THEY wanted and they have a reason behind every choice. If you don't want to play it because there is no rocks/trees/day/night cycles/ the color purple is in it that is your choice, just don't get upset to be called out on how silly that is.

That's a good question, let me first show you what I wrote in the pinned wishlist thread what my wishes are for the game.
- Sandbox mode
- Solid management game and lot's of variation in the missions
- Some terrain paints
- Day/night cycle
- Blood/gore (Either as a option or as a free dlc)
- The best game you could make!

That's what I wrote and you can immediately see that most of my wishes aren't in the game, at least not at launch but I'm a very easy to please person.
If I find the general gameplay, graphics and variety in the missions good enough, I don't care anymore for my other wishes.

I know most people aren't like me and to answer your question, I do think that many things have been added by listening to what the community wanted but as a developer you will not be able to please everyone.

I am curious why you think most of your wishes aren't int he game, 4/6 are known to be in the game.

What was the purpose of your response? I specifically said that if you like the design choices then thats great. I haven't tried to convince anyone who isn't worried that they should be worried. All I've said is that I have worries and this is why. You're entitled to your opinion as am I.

That being said, being over protective about a game you're yet to play is pathetic. A game, as with all art should be open to criticism. Again, by the same token thaat criticism should also be open to criticism. However, all you have responded with is a generic response targeted for a generic insult of the game which my original post was not. You even incorrectly assumed that the focus of my post was the lack of customization. Use your brain and learn to think critically.

All you seem to do is comment on negative posts and defend the game. Just stop and wait till the game comes out. I'm in a position where I'm no longer excited for it and therefore have nothing to lose. You on the other hand do. Relax man.

Thats honestly great you're like that man. As I've said, I hope you love the game and get everything out of it that you wanted.

Why you think 4?
In the game is sandbox mode and a form of day/night cycle that i'm fine with.
Hopefully solid management game and lot's of variation in the missions and the best game they can make.
Terrain paints and blood/gore will not be in it

The point of my post is the same as yours, to respond, YOU don;t have to respond either, you could easily just ignore what we are saying in response but you instead you keep feeling the need to respond. You honestly think that I am going to be dissapointed you are off by a long shot. They could have released the march version of the game and I would have been happy to spend the 86$ it costs for the deluxe edition. If the game is bad I am only out a few bucks so why would I care about that? Money aside this is game is coming from one of the best companies that works in theses genera and know exactly what they are doing. They are only being limited by what universal is stopping them from doing (no children, indestructible vehicles). If you don't like the game choices that is fine, but you seem pretty defensive every time someone calls you out on it for nitpicking in better words the game. If you are not excited for the game why even bother come to the forums and make this post? why not just keep it private? I personally believe that you wanted this attention because you knew the responses you would get it, I also think that if really didn't care about people criticizing your posts you wouldn't feel the need to defend it every time someone says something.

Thanks for the feedback in this thread! Please make sure to keep it constructive, as well as respectful towards your other forum members :) - that'd be most helpful!

Just to answer some common things in here:
- On Isla Nublar you do have the options to set the weather and there are presets for different times of day (noon, dusk, and night).
- Whilst we see that some people are asking for a JP:OG-style challenge mode, it's not something that will be in the game at launch. The Career mode is the challenge of the game, with Isla Nublar as sandbox there to let you freeform with buildings and dinosaurs you've already unlocked. It's something we might look into after launch, but it's currently not in the planning.

Hope this clarifies!!

Wow... the only game mode logical to see in this kind of game is the only one we’ll not have...

I’m sure the game will be a great game but... I really need to shout : «What a pity!!!»
Probably the strangest dev choice I saw for some years.
The problem is that, after the campaign (in which we are not free and we must follow missions) and the sandbox (you’ll play some days.... maybe some weeks... doing whatever you want to do without any challenge... and then? This can’t be fun for monthes. Not even one day for me)
The Challenge Mode is the only way to assure a long life to a gestion game. Blue Tongue Interactive understood this years ago and that’s why op genesis is in memories.

I wish the best for Jurassic World Evolution cause I have great respect for the work you’ve done and... cause I preordered it. I was sure it’s was’nt possible to create a park gestion game without challenge mode. I was wrong...

Well we know that there is Sandbox mode already confirmed, as well as they have said that there are tons of missions that will keep you playing(that is what all 5 islands are, nothing but missions to progress), We know that there is a ton of micro managing like being able to micro manage small details like buying workers for restaurants and setting prices. As well it is obvious just watching the dev diaries that they are making the best game they are doing with what they have and the time limit they were given. The only two things that we don't have are the Terrain paints (and we have no confirmation or denial of them. as well as a true day/night cycle.

Yes 4 out of 6 is probably what I will get, I just looked at what was 100% confirmed but let's not go off topic here.

Oh boy.

People are obviously entitled to their opinion about my opinion. I have not once criticized someone who has said that they are excited about the game. I have not tried to change anyones opinion about the gane. You need to understand some of these nuances.

My responses have been directed towards people like yourself who are obviously more interested in blindly defending a game then offering a measured rebuttal. This entire post was made to create a dialogue. Not bash the game. Not say how bad it will be. Not tell anyone they are a fool for liking the game. Understand that.

I genuinly don't know how else to respond.

My biggest disappointment is lack of customisation.

Logs, rocks, caves etc for the enclosures and things such as signs, statues, fountains for the park itself.

2nd comes lack of attractions (hope there's more than Gyrosphere) and the seemingly small Nublar map.

No one has been blindly defending the game. We have admited the flaws but frontier has literally been confirming or reassuring everyone if our fears. Most people could care less about a few twigs or rocks In the game. Like I have said you just have seemed to want to complain and enjoy the attention of us rebutting you. You don't have to respond.
