All well and good but there's a serious need to sub-divide larger bays to accomodate multiple small modules or else shift them to the utility points.

there is going to be a paid expansion as some point this year. So quiet down and be patient.

Don't bet on it, you'll get disappointed. They said LEP owners will get something, but I don't see that being a complete expansion. Will probably be some smaller stuff.

Why is nothing being said about the Krait although it is clearly shown , is this just another Frontier ploy... of not telling us the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you Devs. :)

Installation Interactions
In a similar fashion to the Megaship interactions, which were introduced in Chapter One, Commanders will now be able to scan and interact with Space Installations.
  • Scan – Scanning the installation will allow Commanders to see what they can interact with: Turrets, Comms Arrays and Cargo Bays.
  • Turret hack – Disable turrets protecting other potential hackable points. This will deactivate security measures put in place to protect the Comms Arrays and Cargo Bays.
  • Comms array – Get tradable data from the Comms Array.
  • Cargo bay – Fire a limpet on the Cargo Bay to unlock and steal commodities and materials.

Nice.

Looking forward to the update in general .. and the Chieftain variant too; the original is a beast that I love.

So I was just thinking...Will said the Challenger is coming in 3.1, but the trailer shows the Krait instead. There are two possibilities here:

1. Both the Challenger and the Krait will be in 3.1 and Will just left it out of the update info.
2. Only the Challenger is actually coming in 3.1 and someone picked the wrong footage when showing the Krait's tail end in the trailer.

Makes me wonder, why show the Krait in the trailer but then not list it in the post? Does Frontier just love to tease their own players that much?

Imagine if when 3.1 goes live the Krait is nowhere to be found. What kind of salt would that harvest from the community?

I think we'll get both the Challenger and the Krait.
The Challenger was shown separately, a modded Chieftain. Those thrusters in the teaser are 100% Krait. We were left teased with the Type-10 too, so it is typical FDev in a good way.

Not knocking the game, as I enjoy it a lot. But the following is my thoughts on your post here, as you requested.
Annoying that you feel you need to tease the (sparse) information like that.
A bit more detail would be appreciated, particularly if it was included on your own forum, and not outside sources.
I am an adult, and would appreciate proper information, that is clear and precise, and actually relates to what we will get.
Redacted #### means nothing to me. What is the point of that bit at all?
Why not post some info on the ship that is going to be released, number of slots? weapons sizes? does it take a fighter?
Or something specific about the weapons coming. Or if we will be able to source the information to unlock them in game? I see the blueprints ask for guardian things, but there is no information in game where and how to go about finding these. That information would actually give us something of substance to think about.
If there is more than one ship coming, why not actually state that.
Well thats what It does for me. Annoys and supplys nothing substantial.

Wing Missions
First introduced in Chapter One of Beyond, we are introducing a Wing Mining Missions for you and your fellow Commanders to take on!

While I understand this is one of smaller Beyond updates. This game needs more FUN content. Wing mining missions are a significant improvement, but it should not just be a dull grind.

The missions in general need more interesting scenarios with some random procedural story elements. Look at the classic space sims like X Wing vs Tie Fighter and so on for inspiration. FTL also has interesting random events that ED could use.

Installation interactions should also be integrated with certain missions so that people have reasons to visit those installations.

its just not enough content.im coming on elites frontiers as i have now almost every ship ingame..its getting boring.
but still,i like it..
maybe frontier should working in their crownjewel, elite dangerous, instead of dino and rollercoastergames???bevore its too late for elite,
and it lost its playerbase complete?
would be great...
those mini updates are just too small.
i hope frontier does not think its enough to put a new ship on the market and player will open coinpurse to buy new shipkits and paintjobs for it??
on a long sight this businessmodel will not work...poeple waiting for atmolanding, not a small, the big thing,spacelegs..not for a dinogame or coastergame!!
just watch out frontier,by neglecting elite, that you not lose your whole fanbase, which lost their believe in elite like star citizen founders lost their fate in sc....
this can happen, and you lose the chance to write gaminghistory with this game to be the first complete universe simulator, with spacelegs and atmolanding...
come on FDEVguys, elite first, your playerbase will some day fedup with that miniupdates for your majorgame, while you make dinoparkgames...
please get your visions for elite back, frontier.
elite needs perspectives, the playerbase needs perspectives!
no more "spacelegs will be complete another game",get on this thing,no excuses, bring it on the way!!there are a lot of options with new gameplay you could implement,to end the endless pure cockpit grind ingame!
elite got the chance to be a big spacegame people just want!
get your visions for elite back, fdev,it seems you losed them !

Well... I hope for bug fixing and really curious if Installation Interactions will bring some butter to the bread.

Curious about this one, but past experiences have shown me not to hold my breath.
Not looking forward to the next guardian grind.
There should be some discount if you already unlocked the current weapons. The larger versions can't be that much different from the medium ones.

I spent 4 hours in the guardian content and I got zero achievements. Is this acceptable from a game design point of view? I don't think so, in fact I stopped to follow that and I came back to my normal business..-

Too long, too repetitive. I like playing in VR and for guardians you always need to google, to read external arcticle, to compare symbols... with VR it's a nightmare... this is really frustrating because you have to remove your headset constanty.
It's a shame that the game does not provide all this information. There are a lot of in-game tools to proper handle this: message board, galnet interface, system information....

For example: the system panel concerning cargo rack should allow to view the collected objects. In this case I could compare the collected guardian artifacts with the ruins symbols without downloading images from google.

It's so easy! FDEV should focus more on obvious stuff rather than releasing complex contents and new ships variant!

They demonstrated multiple times that they are not able to handle complex gamplay structures... they spent months for the C&P and people is still unhappy and other contenst are still: too long, too difficult, exploitable, unbalanced..

The game lacks of simplicity and obvious thoughts in my opinion. A new ship, a new weapon to grind, a new thargoid variant... that's just useless candy...

It's good to see more fixes and additions coming out for this game but like many replying here I'm not interested in combat. I've barely played ED in the last 12-18 months (which is a huge change from before that when I was on it every spare moment I had). I trade and I'm just not seeing anything new to bring me back in. Same with the exploring and mining I like to dabble in. If I'm into combat then I'd probably have damp knickers by now but my trading/mining/exploring pants are bone dry and rather threadbare.

I know that trading and exploring are due to get some more love but I'm not holding my breath. It never feels like I'm actually part of something doing those roles and that they have no meaning. I get more out of an hour with ETS2/ATS than I have done in months of ED.

I'll wait and see what happens but I feel that I might not really come back to this game. Shame as I had high hopes (and still do) and I've dropped quite a bit of cash on this (the LEP is continuing to looking utterly pointless).

Like others here, I'm not a combat oriented pilot, so, I'm putting all my money on the Q4 update.
But I must say that all these "non for me" additions before Q4, in my eyes, aren't bad at all, they apparently are features that FD thinks that must come (for whatever reasons) before the last chapter of the Beyond update, which will focus on mining, exploration and squadrons.
I just hope that the combat part of squadrons don't get a bigger portion of that focus.
