List your three most used ships, and tell us a bit about them.

DBS- named after my girlfriend. So much fun to just hop into. Cheap, convenient and responsive.

Asp X- named after the wife. Unremarkable, but reliable and good for general drudgery.

Cobra mk IV- named after me. Crap at most things and tending towards the corpulent. But I still have to like it.

Recently:
  • Cobra IV Clamhan Time outs from my Thargoid resistance efforts. Farming materials. Short range exploring. Sight seeing. :p Yeah, I'm a tourist, so what? :D
  • Type 7 Saxon Type 9 as yet unnamed. Bulk cargo to damaged stations. Community Goals. Credit farming when funds are low.
  • Type 10 Tarbh Uisge Rescue ship.

Most used overall:
  • AspX Icarus Multi role. Worst passenger ship ever. Took me to SagA* and Elite Explorer.
  • Python Deorsa Farming credits, materials, mission running, whatever I needed most at the time.
  • Viper IV Little Crow Smuggler par excellence.

Honorable mention:
  • Viper III Jaguar My avatar and the ship I learned how to play the game in.

1. Cutter - Engineered to the max, completely A rated everything and I switch roles between hauling naked and tanking anything in CNBs mat farming, and some terrorist smashing.

2. Python (any one of seven I own): Any outpost level trading, all of them are engineered fully but outfitting for different things.

3. iEagle/Courier A rated and fully engineered/get about the same amount of use: VR stuff, banging out data missions, doing some planetary hunting for POIs at higher boost speeds... just fun ships to fly

Honorable mention: Vulture, black... switching between two plasmas vs two rails vs other crazy loadouts to hunt big targets in VR. Best VR ship for fighting, imo. Dbx - engineered for range. My bubble scout.

1. FDL-Named it F.N.S Defiant after the U.S.S Defiant from star trek. It's mostly g5 engineered currently running 4 beams and a multi on it.

2. Anaconda- named F.N.S Beowulf It got its name because one of the first ships I killed in it was named Grendel. It's mostly a combat ship but ocasionally refit it for material gathering for engineers.

3. Alliance Chieftain- named it F.NS. Valor. Recently finished engineering it during the reduced engineer weekend.

My three change regularly out of a fleet of about 9 of them.

The only interesting thing is after lots of swapping and changing, actually settled on the Asp Explorer ('Tranquility') over the Orca ('Lady Luck') as a taxi (orca engineered gets 50+ jump). It was really close, the ship kit and paint job selection pushed it over.

Current favourites are the courier ('Seb's Hand') and cobra 4 ('Seb's Fortune') though, just never used them properly until this year.

Federal Assault Ship - TFS Nuckelavee. I gave it this name because of The Bard's Tale and some research ( I couldn't get the damn pub song out of my head for two weeks). Originally I wanted the Python, but since it was the most agile of the medium ships, I bought it instead. I bought it before the Chieftain came out, but I have no regrets about buying it. Balanced loadout, agile and flexible.

Asp Explorer - TFS Warbow because it's intended to go long distances. Originally intended to be my shuttle, I found out this vessel is the next step up from the Cobra in terms of the multirole ship, and right now it's my bulk freighter until I can properly outfit the Python I bought a few days ago.

Cobra MkIII - Had multiple names, but I settled on TFS Crowbar because it's one handy ship for everything and not difficult to get. Inexpensive, fast and flexible. I used this vessel to travel to Merope because it was much easier to replace should I wind up being corroded to death by a spiteful Thargoid Scout.

#1. FED gunship. It kills things real good.
#2. Both vipers. Love them both.
#3. Cutter. For when I'm tired after work and just want to make some credits to fund PVP rebuys.

My top three:

1) AspX, Mercury's Endeavour, I tend to use it for passenger missions or exploring, it's the ship I've made the majority of my credits in, I got Elite exploration by taking a very long way round to SagA* so it always has a place in my heart
2) Corvette, The Canary Factor, I use it for seal clubbing and generally taking frustrations out of helpless NPC's, this ship always makes me feel good although I'm constantly messing with my weapons loadout
3) Anaconda, The Colossal Canary, it's big, yellow and before I got my Corvette did mostly fighting, now I use it for mining, mats gathering, larger passenger missions, basically it does a bit of everything.

My worst ship? The Cutter, I spent so long grinding for the rank, I love the looks but just felt so underwhelmed by it. I sold it quite quickly, joined the Feds

:D You'll be naming your next ship "The Five Finger Shuffle" if you carry on like this.

Yes, I feel the same way. I’ve kept it as an armed trader when pure cargo capacity is the priority, but I rarely fly it. I'm not even sold on the looks - it's reminiscent of a sports deodorant to my eyes.

DBS: engineered to the absolute max. Shieldless with four railguns. It's my CZ specialist ship. You may be surrounded by enemies, but they can't shoot you if they can't see you.

Asp: I've never liked the Asp Explorer, I've always been a DBX man. But she's finally won me over; mine boosts 550m/s+, with shields and SRV. Handles like a dream with 5A G5 dirty drag drives. 54LY jump range. Stupidly capable explorer; imagine a DBX with a 6A fuel scoop and an even better canopy.

FDL: Another maximum engineered project. Five efficient PAs, with incredible shields with balanced resistances, and underneath that, incredible armour, also with balanced resistances. Also: that noise!

If I'm not flying one of these three ships, I'm either in my Imperial Courier with a huge grin on my face, or I'm asleep.

[hotas] I like my DBXs for mats & data gathering, they are able to haul a SRV and can get anywhere in the bubble in just a few jumps . . .

[arrrr] I like my FerDLs for combat, I can blow up Cutters and Corvettes with them . . .

[hehe] And I like my Anacondas for their flexibility of use in different roles. o7

{rough estimate}

Currently: Cutter 98%, Chieftan 1.95%, Corvette .04%, DBX .01%,

cutter - everything except medium pads & outposts
chieftan - bgs mission taker for systems with only outposts, some pp undermining
dbx - for getting around the bubble quick
corvette - occasionally for massacre missions

( Before chieftan: Cutter 98%, T-10 1.0%, FDL .5%, FGS .49%, DBX .01%
Before cutter: FGS 75%, AspX 25% )
