EliteD seems to be slightly suffering some criticism due to peoples expectations when they see "MMO".
Even with the coming (soon?) improvements to communications, we are never going to see the kind of social interaction that we do in the more common MMO games.
I think this is could cause a problem with people not entirely understanding what they are getting when they buy the game.
I guess its hard to marry the want of having a whole universe to spread out into with the expectations of multiplayer MMO gameplay.
I wouldn't be so sure about that - regional/station/faction chat channels will bring much more social interactions between players, and as soon as guilds/Corps are in larger group play and communications will be possible, etc etc
There are many possibilities to bring the MMO experience to Elite, it will come and it must come, because without more social elements the game will not succeed in today's market.
If you think MMO social elements are not coming to Elite or are not necessary for it's long term success you are in for a shock. Online games require these types of interactions to succeed in today's world no matter what the price, MMO interactions will be added.
