Steam's 1000 most-played games, Elite Dangerous is not in it due to a lack of Achievements

That you interpret the Don Quixote metaphor as an insult says a great deal about your education, Cosmo. Google it. Read. Learn.

That you think it's okay to call people names, says enough about you. Try to learn.

I challengeyou to show me where I insulted you. You having hurt feelz is not the same, btw.

But go ahead, tilt at windmills some more.

Some people don't consider Don Quixote to be a compliment. That may be difficult to process for you. Also people don't appreciate it when you tell them they can't comment in a thread anymore, or make jokes about "headshots".

"How Good" (objectively) a Game is certainly ISN'T linked to how many current players it has...
Still LESS how much YOU as an individual enjoy playing it...

It's a niche market title (if it wasn't there'd be OTHER Space Flight/Space Combat games out there on the market
It's also 4 years Old (a lifetime in Gaming terms) and getting older...
So player numbers aren't going to be high...and they certainly won't ever get any higher...
Doesn't mean its not a good game tho'

Yes ED is a niche game and more than 4 years old. Niche genres appeal to much smaller crowds. There's a lot more games with more active players after 4 years. It doesn't necessarily determine how good a game is. However, based on the Mixed-Reviews on Steam, ED isn't being praised that much either. So like I said, to make it appealing to a broader audience it should become less of a niche game where we can't get out of our chairs. :p

I think its because some members of this community go on holy crusades to get anything that the wider player base enjoys removed for being an exploit.

Steam's Elite average-concurrent-players count in January was the highest ever, not bad for a 3yr-old game.

During the 3.1 live stream David Braben said Elites has just had it's best year so far, in terms of both players and revenue. Getting better and better every year :)

Oh how I wish this game was more popular so I could read even more trite boring shouting matches between pseudointelligent ragers living in delusional dens of isolated self esteem.

Actually, that is not true. The Don Q comment came after yours.

The Don Q comment came after already joking about a "headshot" among other things. So it is true.

I'm not advocating to get things removed. Want to see things expanded such as the "stuck in the chair" for 4 years. :p

There's plenty of legs left in Elite ;)

Oh c'mon, admit it. You started a discussion and got knocked out by a handbag on the first reply, happens to the best. Back straight, chin up, false teeth back in and your set for the next round :D

That's not "knocked out" and I corrected the original post. Nothing wrong with that. However, people who make fun of others such as the100thmonkey is not okay.

Fanboy comment #16, Don Q comment #28.

The headshot is not calling you names. That's a comment on the argument being made.

THe headshot comment is part of the disrespectful conduct of a troll who also calls people names and insults them for fun.

So you can't show me where I insulted you, but are sticking to the "I'm insulted" strategy...

Trust me pal, if I wanted to insult you, I would and could. I haven't.

Go read some Cervantes. It's good for you. Alternatively, you might want to read some Melville. Just stay away from Hubbard.

I showed you already, but you like to ignore those things. :p

You already did and I've restrained myself up till now.

Stellaris doesn't attempt to simulate being a pilot in a space ship... A better comparison for ED is Star Citizen.

Same problem i had with Populous and Black & White back in the day: they're allegedly god-sims but i could neither make my neighbor clean up his garden nor was i able to create another series of The Prisoner. God-sim indeed. (Not familiar with Star Citizen. Is that the Mace Griffin reboot?)

He didn't actually call you names first. That was your claim. And that is objectively false.

But, even if it were true, "he started first" is not an excuse to behave likewise and feel justified.

And may I remind you, you called me slow, while I never commented on your personality?
You're slow cause you don't recognize the difference.

Elites not there because the list is generated from achievements data, and Elite doesn't have Steam achievements.

Heh. That was quick.
