Hmm I've got my PC runing ona Sharp 37" LCD Tv that runs at 60hz I'll be trying the Winlogo+p thing later and see how that works out.

Oh I see! sorry. I'll give it a try.

No probs.
If you want to go the route of lowering your resolution to hit 75Hz on your monitor then just Right click on your desktop, select Screen resolution.
Hopefully you'll have your DK2 in extended and you'll be able to see two (or more) displays in there, one being your DK2.
Select your monitor and drop the res by one notch on the slider.
Click Advanced settings>Monitor
And check the available refresh rates.
If it is only 60hz still then back out and lower the slider another notch.
Repeat the process till you find the highest res you can run at 75Hz.

I'm not 100% how I did it but when I turn my rift off using the little button on the top my monitor resets back to 1440p at 60Hz which is great as it saves faffing about. Turn the DK2 back on again and it resets the monitor back to low res 75hz.

The only issue you'll find with this is when windows and stuff are on the Rift as it's hard to see.

You could try virtual desktop which fixes this issue (but not sure if it has an overhead) or dragging stuff over to your normal screen (which works most of the time, the UE4 launchers never seem to want to move though).

Not sure if just turning the TV off will have the same affect or not but would save faffing about.

Here's a link for Virtual desktop - https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=8182
Makes using the DK2 as a monitor 400,000,000,000 times easier.

Some other tips that may or may not work.
Plug the power cable in.
Move the DK2 in the monitor arrangement so it is left of your main monitor.

Sounds like a better option.

You were right there after looking through the manual I found some but IPS-panels doesn't seem to have much of an increase. can reach 70hz if I go as low as 400p :)

You could try going lower and seeing if you can hit 75hz
Turning off the monitor before playing may be a better solution though if you're struggling to get 75Hz.

I'd check out the link I posted for Virtual desktop as IMO it's nigh impossible to launch things well using the default DK2 setup.

Very interesting, thank you. Just tested on my monitor which was locked at 60hz and sure enough by dropping the resolution it allowed me to up the refresh rate to 75hz. Windows+P worked too!

Learn something new every day

Laptop running DK2

I've been putting this test off, as I was afraid of the results (seeing as the 780 ti is having issues), but I return to Saudi next week and will only have access to my laptop...

780m
I7
32gb RAM

The CPU and RAM handle the game fine as you would expect...
The GPU was surprisingly ok...
Low to medium settings were hitting 50 - 60 fps in station and 60 - 65 outside station, with 75 fps everywhere else.
Sufficient to keep on enjoying rifting back home and plenty of reasons to be optimistic for further optimisations enabling permanent low persistence :)

So I made enough money to upgrade from the Lakon6 to the Lakon9.

With the DK2 on, the Lakon9 interior is insanely awesome. Multi level bridge with corridors you can see a little into, just crazy.

And the Lakon9 has such a massive cargo hold that its easly to make millions ...which allowed me to upgrade to the Anaconda.

And that my friends is a religious experience with the Dk2
....like Lamborghini have designed a warship.
Sleek wide sporty awesome interior and long nose that extends forever in front of you. The sense of depth and scale you get is so cool.

Its my first time in these two big ships and I also found that controllin them regarding docking is much easier in the rift as you have a much better sense of scale and distance and its not hard to get these behemoths in and out at all.........only thing you have to be careful of is other ships because you will obliterate anything in your path :D

I can't get enough of ED with the DK2, the DK1 was pretty meh I felt like i was at a heavy disadvantage, however with the DK2 I can't even play the game without it now, I feel like I have a huge advantage while wearing it. Tracking targets around the cockpit is so amazing.. moving my head and just looking at the screens is so much more efficient, hats off to Frontier for making this one of the greatest moments of my gaming life. I always knew Elite IV would kickass but I had no idea it would be this amazing of an experience.

Hey guys I got my Rift DK2 a whole 36 hours before it was suppose to show up :D Anyways Got it working and been playing for hours already, lost track of time (No Nausea ). Not sure where the list is but you can remove me from it now As I'm sure I'm the last of many. (You can cut the green guys off now)

Gonna plug myself back in :)

Found list and made you green.

Cracking news mate, I'm both pleased for you and jealous ;)

That last comment does sound a bit like 'The Matrix'!

Thanks Zalamander

Aw man I was doing great until I tried out Half life 2... everything worked really well... then I had to go ripping around on that damn hover craft. not good. A bit queasy.

But Not so much as a problem in Elite even when dogfighting :D It just feels really solid. Can't go back now

Managed to get a rid of 95% of my judder issues dropping everything and playing with different Vsync, frame buffering (think thats the term) etc, and now smooth, its just the blur (double image) that I cant shake, still playable, just feels abit naff with that.

Edit: Missed a few pages with some solutions to this!

Is there a program that will give you all the info of what your monitors refresh rates are, and how to tell what FPS the game is running at?

I've been googling the jutter thing and Lucky Palmer said that with the current walk around it kills their 'Timewarp' fix for jutter. So when we end the Oculus programs to run ED without the new software it's going to jutter like crazy.

Lucky: "Without timewarp, any framerate below 75 will cause visible judder, the lower the framerate, the worse it gets. Properly implemented timewarp can fill in the gaps."

So that being said once the SDK has all the kinks worked out and ED implements it it SHOULD be smooth sailing :D I'm really looking forward to more released from either of these developers (Oculus and Frontier)

(Here's the link to the Reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2bq4cp/dk2_owners_is_anyone_else_getting_juddering_and_a/ )

Playclaw 5 will show you you fps , GPU, CPU performance etc in game as you can reposition the Data anywhere on screen
