It's clownshoes.

Really all that needs to be said at this point.

So yeah, tomorrow is new CG day and we have a crippled mega-ship. Gosh, I wonder what might come next.

Trouble is, most of the players who might give a toss about that are on it already, mostly in ships with minimal cargo capacity, hundreds of light years from any commodity markets. Oh and I'd imagine more than a few of them are going to be ever so slightly irked. For me, whatever I was hoping might happen this next week it wasn't getting the chance to spend a week flying loops to the California nebula to buy widgets and duct tape. In a Clipper, with a 16 ton cargo rack.

I spent my weekend engineering a ship for this. Boy do I feel stupid. I'm genuinely amazed that after seeing the level of community engagement with the stated event on the forums for what, three weeks now, somebody somewhere presumably thought this was a good idea.

The Gnosis was supposed to be behind the permit lock for four weeks. If it's not actually going to happen at all, rather than this being a one week planned delay before a successful jump at next week's server tick following a CG, I'd strongly suggest someone at FDev just breaks the fourth wall and tells us.

If you've come to fight Hydras, then I can't see what difference it makes what system we end up in. If you came to explore, then we already knew that was not going to happen when the cone was locked. I'm not sure what else people could have been expecting.

Dont apologize for frontier literally pulling a carbon copy of Jaques station event. They can apologize for it. Theres little excuse for recycling content after Frontier elected to hijack the event.

Frontier locked the sectors last update. After the Gnosis was scheduled to jump. They decided to throw the wrench. To pick pretty much the same one as Jaques, is just a little tone deaf.

Its on the Wikia page too:

On September 6, when the Gnosis attempted the jump to Cone Sector FN-J b9-0, it was interrupted by a Thargoid attack. Captain Mathius Leander of the Gnosis command crew transmitted the following emergency message: "We were a short way into our journey when the Gnosis was hyperdicted by a group of Thargoid vessels. The wrench back into real space caused severe internal damage to multiple systems, including the frame shift drive. There's no doubt that we would have been destroyed if not for some of the Commanders travelling with us. They lured the Thargoids away while ejecting meta-alloys from their holds. The aliens were more interested in scooping up the meta-alloys than attacking us. The Commanders later reported that the Thargoid vessels were the recently identified Hydra Interceptors. The Gnosis is currently adrift close to the eighth planet of the Outotz ST-I d9-6 system. We have begun essential repairs, but there is a risk that the Thargoids may return before we can escape the system."[11]

I liked much that the galnet news popped out 6 hours before the gnosis will actually jump. Very clever

We did come to Explore, so they could not have locked us into a single system for a month unless it was going to be a REALLLLLLY interesting system. There would have been a riot and something would have to give. One way or another I'm exploring and mining, just like I had planned. I'll be riding the ship for a few months.

I can't even be bothered to log in and change my loadout. Of all the ship items I transferred to the Gnosis, cargo racks weren't included. Dropping meta-alloys whilst running away from mean flowers sounds like fun...

Oh stop. Just stop right now.

The Gnosis was supposed to be behind the lock for four weeks, so I'd imagine some people (me for example) thought FDev may lift the lock on some of those systems during that time. Perhaps folowing a discovery during the first week. You know, maybe as part of some actual planned gameplay arc.

If you don't personally care about it that's fine, you set your own expectations but don't be making out people were nuts to think that something other than Jaques mis-jump part II might happen. Jesus, have you seen the amount of discussion and interest this has attracted on the forum over the last few weeks?

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Event killed by Galnet. The cheapest method of FDEV avoiding the responsibility of offering something new. This is priceless!

I bet this turns into a stupid CG.

I'll be uninstalling if we get that kind of garbage-tier response. Killed by Galnet is bad enough.

I would have been ok with finding an empty system, but this is just lazy.

It's amazing. A veritable xmas miracle. Back to NMS. I'm sure Q4 will absolutely be amazing. I did laugh though.

Oh Frontier. What are you doing?
