BREAKING NEWS: GNOSIS STRANDED, GALNET NEWS!

For me, Galnet is that character on a sit-com that never gets it right, but keeps on trying, and you've got to love them for it. Most recently, I publicly wondered why Galnet seemed to respond to events so slowly at times. :)

Good thing I brought my Diamondback Explorer, which has 0 cargo space! Man, it's not too late to get off.....seriously, probably should. I'll stay on just to see what happens. If this is how this is going to play out, looks like it's time to take a month long break from the game.

Its fake news. They printed the papers early.

Some illuminati crap going on.

Its a set up.

Lol so not only was this story released early (that's what i've gathered from some of the comments). But the path the story decided to take was the laziest and most generic option available to frontier.
Not only that, but having to fix the ship just means another grind one way or another, you know..... just what this game needs more of.

This has really taken the wind out of my sails in regards to this event.....

Well, I haven't been here for 5 years like so many of you, nor did I play the game in '84 or whenever. But, I do like the game.

There is time for them to recover within the next few hours, with a delay of The Gnosis jump and getting us involved in the story writing to eradicate the Galnet misstep (it was a misstep, they tripped). It could be done, if they act swiftly.

Someone called for a firing, I'd counter and say, "no, this is a wake up call, and hopefully a well learned lesson."

Let's give them all a chance to take this to heart and move this game forward, and not forgotten in a locked closet.

It's not the first time this happens, they've done it before in the past. You would think they'd learn after the second or third time after disappointing the community.

This is my reaction to this development:

All I wanted was to explore some hard to reach systems. I haven't played hardly at all this year due to boredom with the game and exploration, but this Gnosis event got me a tad excited to play some Elite again. I don't know why I had any hope I would get something so simple and easy to deliver. And now it's been completely nullified.

I don't know why I had any faith at all. Back to waiting for Q4 I suppose. [sad]

The system the Gnosos is stranded in (according to the Galnet article) is one system over and not locked, so, no real reason to hurry with present information on hand..

Maybe we'll get a badge for all this drama LOL

I’d feel really silly if I had fallen for this but decided to ignore it.

Coincidentally, if anyone wonders why carriers were pulled from the game, wonder no more. They have no mechanics to support that kind of gameplay. The Thargoid threat will “advance” by adding more petals to flowers at a rate of 2 per QTR.

“Exciting!” (tm)

At least Galnet Audio is being utilized :D

They should really sell this franchise off to someone else while it’s still worth a dime or just open source it to the community. The real victims in this whole affair are the original backers and the concept of crowd-funded projects. I for one will never ever back anything as long as I live that doesn’t exist. Thanks, EA, for paving the way for micro transactions. 21st Century gaming needs no content, just a tech demo, some marketing and cosmetics.

Oops, forgot to add CGs to the list...how can you go wrong?

I was theorizing in another thread about possible outcomes, and even though I didn't say it at the time, I always felt that the most likely outcome is that the Gnosis would get attacked by Thargoids, and fail to enter the permit-locked region. I was hoping it at least make it part way, and get a partial release of the permit locks to facilitate a rescue operation. But I figured the most likely scenario is that it would not enter the locked region at all. I hate to be right on this.
